WWE Money in the Bank Predictions

Read Time:6 Minute, 50 Second

WWE MITB takes place this Sunday, April 19 in Hartford, Connecticut.

Becky Lynch defends both titles individually against Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans, Kofi Kingston defends his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank matches will take place, Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles will take place for the Universal Championship, and more.

Check out our staff predictions below.

Cruiserweight Championship: Tony Nese (C) vs Ariya Daivari (Kickoff Show)

I am sticking my neck out a bit with this pick, I am going for Daivari. Now usually I would not pick a champion to lose so quickly after winning it, but in this case, I think it is the best option. I don’t have a problem with Nese, but I think he is better when he is chasing the title, and it has been a while since a cowardly heel-type character has held the belt.

Daivari def. Tony Nese and wins the Cruiserweight Championship.

Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs The Usos (Kickoff Show)

Now this match is super weird because Usos are a Raw team (Wild Card Rule) and the Tag Titles aren’t even on the line. Eco Warriors just got the titles and even though it is a non-title match, I think they win. The Wild Card Rule aside it doesn’t make sense for a Raw team to hand the SmackDown Tag Champions their first loss. I imagine they will cheat somehow, but Daniel Bryan and Rowan will pick up the W.

Daniel Bryan & Rowan def. The Usos.

United States Championship: Samoa Joe (C) vs Rey Mysterio

This is a tricky one, and their match at WrestleMania almost doesn’t count because Rey was hurt. That being said, I think there is more mileage left in this feud, but for it to keep going Rey must win here. Rey is still a huge fan favourite and a win here would be a nice crowd popper. I also think Dominik will get involved somehow, leading to a bigger story down the line. I don’t think Joe beating him in back-to-back title matches would hurt Rey. I think he should pick up the title.

Rey Mysterio def. Samoa Joe to win the United States Championship.

Roman Reigns vs Elias

Not much to say about this match, Roman isn’t losing to Elias, Reigns wins.

Roman Reigns def. Elias.

The Miz vs Shane McMahon (Steel Cage Match)

This feud has honestly been one of the best in recent months, and I have enjoyed everything about it. One of my biggest mark out moments of WrestleMania was seeing George Miz hop the barricade. Shane’s heel work has been top notch and although I was hesitant about Miz as a face, he is pulling it off flawlessly. I think this comes down to the fact that Miz won’t lose two matches in a row to Shane, Miz wins this one.

Miz def. Shane McMahon.

Women’s Money in the Bank: Nikki Cross vs Bayley vs Natalya vs Naomi vs Carmella vs Dana Brooke vs Mandy Rose vs Ember Moon

This is a tricky one, I think there a couple likely winners. Ember, Bayley, Carmella, and Alexa’s replacement, Nikki Cross. Of all those options I want Ember to win the most, but I think Bayley makes the most sense. With Sasha being gone at the moment, a nice push for Bayley would be the perfect way to get her back. However, from a storyline perspective, if Bayley wins this match she will be cashing in on a Horsewomen. Spoiler alert. I think Becky is retaining in both of her matches but Bayley cashing in on a fellow Horsewomen member would make for extremely good TV. Bayley has held the Raw Women’s Championship before, but they have improved her character since then and she does have a bit of a meaner side now. I think Bayley makes the most sense, and would be the most interesting going forward.

Bayley wins the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase.

Men’s Money in the Bank: Finn Balor vs Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin vs Drew McIntyre vs Ricochet vs Randy Orton vs Andrade vs Ali

This might be the hardest match on this card to predict, because every participant could win. However, as with the Women’s Money in the Bank match, I have broken this down to the most likely winners. I think Ricochet, Ali, Drew, and Almas are most likely to walk away with the briefcase. Ali was seemingly in a WWE Title push prior to his injury leading up to Mania, I think WWE really like Andrade and Ricochet, but for me this comes down to one person. Drew McIntyre is my pick to win the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase. Drew is everything WWE wants in their superstars and has been main event level since he re-debuted on the main roster. His heel character and how he carries himself would be perfect for the briefcase, and he is a World Champion waiting to be crowned. He is the most likely to take the Universal Championship for Seth and a cash-in after he’s wrestled an intense match would be perfect.

Drew McIntyre wins the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase.

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (C) vs Lacey Evans

I like Lacey Evans to be honest. She is solid in the ring and she is so committed to her character, more so than most wrestlers are in 2019 and I see why WWE are (allegedly) high on her. However, I think it is a bit too early for her to win the Raw Women’s Championship. There is more mileage to get out of Becky as champ and even though I don’t think she will walk out of the PPV with both titles, she will retain here.

Becky Lynch def. Lacey Evans to retain the Raw Women’s Championship.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (C) vs Charlotte Flair

To be straight up, I think Becky will retain this championship, but I don’t think she will leave Money in the Bank as Becky 2 Belts. If my prediction about the Women’s Money in the Bank match is right, this is the perfect spot for Bayley to cash in. Two of the Four Horsewomen battling it out in a hard fought match for Bayley to cash in afterwards would be perfect. While Charlotte still has many title reigns ahead of her, Becky is the bigger superstar at the moment. She will be the one to get cashed in on rather than Charlotte.

Becky Lynch def. Charlotte to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (C) vs Kevin Owens

This match is going to be a barn burner and honestly could go any way. Owens is at his best right now and his heel work has been top notch, and the Kofi train has lost a bit of steam. However, I think Kofi will retain here and drop it at SummerSlam, but to be quite honest, I would love for Kevin to win here. This feud can 100% be extended and I would be happy with Kofi retaining and then losing it to Kevin later. Do not sleep on this match because it has potential to be the best one the card. Nonetheless, I think Kofi will retain, but this is not the end of this feud by any means.

Kofi Kingston def. Kevin Owens to retains the WWE Championship.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (C) vs AJ Styles

AJ Styles has just come to Raw, and they wasted no time giving us this dream match. AJ will absolutely be Universal Champion, but not yet. Seth just won the title at WrestleMania and AJ losing here does not hurt him in the slightest. Seth retaining, then eventually being cashed in on by Drew with all their history, is just too perfect of a story to mess with. AJ could totally win here, but I just think it is too early. This will definitely be a phenomenal match though.

Seth Rollins def. AJ Styles to retain the Universal Championship.
