Leah Letson out, Macy Chiasson in vs Sarah Moras at UFC on ESPN+ 8

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

UFC on ESPN+ 8 in Ottawa was originally supposed to feature a women’s bantamweight bout between TUF 28 semi-finalist Leah Letson and Sarah Moras. Letson has since fell out of the fight and will be replaced by TUF 28 Winner, Macy Chiasson.

Chiasson actually fought Letson during the TUF 28 season and managed to finish her by way of TKO, following vicious knees to the body.

At UFC on ESPN+ 8 in Ottawa, Chiasson will be stepping in to face her next bantamweight challenge, in Sarah Moras. Chiasson has gone 3-0 as a featherweight before dropping down to bantamweight, for her second UFC fight against Gina Mazany. Chiasson managed to finish Mazany via TKO in the very first round.

Chiasson now holds a professional record of 4-0, with a UFC record 2-0. Out of those four wins, she has 1 KO, 2 submissions, and 1 decision. She’s always looking to finish the fight.

Her opponent, Moras, holds a professional record of 5-4, with a 2-3 record in the UFC. She 2 KOs, 2 submissions, and 1 decision. She’s another game fighter who’s always looking for the finish and most of her losses have been against top competition. For example, two out of four losses were against former title challengers, Jessica Andrade and Raquel Pennington.

Chiasson is on a bit of a hot streak with 4 consecutive wins to kick-off her pro career. I’m sure that she’s aiming to keep that streak alive and quickly dispatch of Moras. Moras has dropped her last two fights via decision and is in desperate need of a win here. With each fighter looking to prove themselves in the division, I think this is going to be a great fight.
