Marlon Vera will look to go on a career high five-fight win streak when he squares off with rising bantamweight prospect, Andre Ewell.
The news was first reported by MMAJunkie on Wednesday. UFC Fight Night 161 takes place on Oct. 12 at the Amalie Center in Tampa, Florida.
Vera last fought at UFC 239 submitting Nohelin Hernandez in the second round. Ewell is coming off of a decision victory over Anderson dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 156 back in June. Both men will square off in Florida with Michelle Waterson and former strawweight Champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in the night’s headliner.
UFC Tampa is shaping up to be an extremely interesting night of fights, with Kron Gracie, Cub Swanson, James Vick, Mackenzie Dern, Luis Pena, all fighting not the card.
Ewell vs. Vera is the perfect fight to add and should be a fun fight to watch.
