Para Bellum Wrestling Luctator will showcase some of Canada’s best wrestlers

On January 10, Olympic style wrestling will be showcased in Ontario at Para Bellum Wrestling Luctator.

The main event will feature defending National Champions, the Brock University Badgers, and the long-standing wrestling powerhouse, the McMaster Marauders. Brock and McMaster have a long-standing rivalry in the realm of wrestling. Mac wants to knock the National Champion Brock Badgers off their podium and move into the nation’s #1 spot. 

The battle between the two universities will be a best of seven dual meet with two women’s weight classes and five men’s for an integrated team championship. The event hosted by Para Bellum MMA in Oakville, ON. will also feature high school, university and Olympic wrestlers. 

Some of the scheduled matches include:

Two of Canada’s top women wrestlers will meet in a super match on the Luctator stage. U23 World Champion Alexandria Town representing York University will take on Brock’s Jess Brouillette, a four-time CIS Champ and multiple-time senior world team member. These two women truly represent some of the best in the country and the world!

A rematch superfight featuring two of Ontario’s top combat athletes. Pro MMA fighter Dwayne Hinds will be taking on grappling expert Michael Bullock in a submission only Jiu Jitsu match.

Two MMA fighters will face off on the wrestling stage. Anthony “The Genius” Romero will battle Jamaal Richer. Anthony trains with the Brock Wrestling program, Niagara Top Team and Para Bellum MMA. Jamaal trains with Battle Arts wrestling program. Romero said participating in the event will be a new challenge for him. “I want to try one of the hardest sports in the world. It’s a good way to test how I have improved in my wrestling game since my only loss as an MMA fighter was to a wrestler in my amateur career.”

The event will start at 6pm at the OE Banquet & Conference Centre, 2245 Speers Road Oakville, ON. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
