Questions & potential storylines heading into WrestleMania 38

WrestleMania weekend is officially here.

The Show of Shows kicked off the festivities with an insane NXT Stand and Deliver card just hours before Night 1 of WrestleMania. As we await the first night of pro wrestling’s SuperBowl, let’s talk about some of the questions and potential storylines we should be thinking about heading into WrestleMania weekend.

Will Becky Lynch cut Bianca’s signature ponytail?

If you watch The Royal Rundown every Tuesday after NXT, you’d know I’ve been talking about this for the last two weeks or so. After Bianca cut Becky’s hair on Monday Night Raw, it only confirmed my inkling. In my opinion, it’s time for a change in Bianca’s character, and I believe that we’ll get that at WrestleMania.

There’s no way Becky doesn’t return the favor and cut off the signature ponytail. All signs point to this happening, including the hair whip to Becky’s body that left some mean cuts. Say bye bye to the braid…

Will Bayley & Asuka return?

The women’s division has been absent of two of its biggest names for quite some time now. According to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, both Bayley and Asuka have been spotted in Dallas. Though it’s unsure if either women will return this weekend, or the Raw/SmackDown after WrestleMania, it’s exciting that their returns could be upon us.

I’d like to see Bayley return in a storyline with Becky Lynch, since that has yet to happen one-on-one. If not Becky, then maybe her and Sasha Banks can do another layer to their ever evolving story. It would make sense, since Banks is back on Team B.A.D. with Naomi. As for Asuka, a storyline with either champion makes sense.

That is if Charlotte can defeat Ronda Rousey…

Is The Fiend or Cody Rhodes facing Seth Rollins?

They moved Seth Rollins’ match to night one, and as everyone knows, he’s going into the matchup with a mystery opponent. For weeks now, the WWE Universe has been thinking Seth will welcome back Cody Rhodes. But Cody’s WWE return has still yet to be truly confirmed. It would be huge is he does return at WrestleMania, but he could very well be on the Raw after Mania.

If it’s not Cody (though it likely is since BT Sport posted a match card and the vacant render resembles Rhodes), then will we see The Fiend’s return? It has been recently reported that Bray Wyatt is in Dallas. He has also been responding to fans and one that stood out in particular was his response to a potential rematch with Rollins. Especially after it was one of the worst matches in WWE history.

Will Vince McMahon allow them to make up for it?

Will Vince McMahon will interfere in the Theory vs. McAfee match?

This one seems inevitable at this point. Pat showed the video Vince sent him at 3am. In the video, McMahon was lifting weights and he told Pat he was going to get his a** beat at WrestleMania. According to Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez, Vince McMahon sees Austin Theory as future star. like John Cena.

If this is true, Theory needs a statement win to kick that off, outside of the segments with Vince himself (which is a big deal). Theory won’t win cleanly, but I believe with Vince’s help… he’ll get his first WrestleMania win.

Will the Heavyweight Championship get revived?

F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer mentioned that WWE originally wasn’t planning to do a title vs. title match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. But apparently Lesnar is the one who pushed for that concept. With their matchup unifying the belt, it seems the men will all chase after one title. It also seems like WWE is ready to bring back the Heavyweight Championship in the mix.

If they do indeed bring back the heavyweight title, what does that mean for the Universal and WWE title? It’ll be interesting to see where the WWE goes with this. But something tells me a new belt will debut on the Monday after Raw, since both men usually compete on SmackDown.

Will Logan Paul fall in love with Professional Wrestling?

Something tells me Logan Paul will get the Bad Bunny itch and do something regularly with the WWE. With his brother Jake Paul taking over boxing, Logan decided to make some money moves himself. And let’s be honest, whether you love or hate him – he dedicates his all to everything he does, and he’s always getting a bag.

Not to mention, Logan is also perfect for the WWE. He’s tall, handsome, and knows how to talk on the mic. A feat that not all WWE Superstars are blessed with. Pairing him with The Miz was absolutely genius, I think we see an amazing performance by Logan to kick off his run with WWE.
