Your guide to TUW 20: Els & Vicente vs. Luff & Rae

Read Time:2 Minute, 38 Second

The fourth round of The Ultimate Writer Season 4 has been underway, and it will feature our first-ever redemption week. TUW 20 will feature a main event between the top two scoring teams for bragging rights. In the co-main event, we’ll see an 8-way throwdown to ensure only the highest scoring content creators fight for the title of The Ultimate Writer. And yes, this is an elimination round…

If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly, but for this round specifically, we’ll have a different set of rules. This next round will be two weeks long, and each team member’s highest viewed article (each week) will be added together for their total score. For those in the 8-way, it’s everyone for themselves.

This fourth card will help us determine who is truly worth competing for the grand prize of $200 and a chance to design a shirt catalog that will be published with Made Dangerous.

Remember…

We are heading into the final matchups of the competition. But this wouldn’t be The Ultimate Writer without some twists and turns. We’ve been pretty nice about them this season, but expect a twist every week leading up to the finale.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Katie Vega & Shawn Bitter do have an advantage they have yet to use. They won it after having the most views as a team during Week 2.
  • Kevin Varghese, Jake Foley, Dylan Bowker & Dylan Fritts have officially been eliminated with no chance of coming back in the competition.
  • There are usually TWO Redemption Weeks a season, and this is the first…

Redemption Week

We just couldn’t see Cole Henry, Lee Brown, Juan Reneo and Josh Diaz go. All of them actually try, unlike others this season who’s view counts were laughable. So we decided to allow these four a shot at a second chance to get back into the tournament bracket.

These four will join the two teams who scored the least amount of views last week – Lewis Simpson & Makoa Goble and Katie Vega & Shawn Bitter. How that match-up will work is the 4 individuals with the highest view count will move on in the competition. So the top scorers will form a team and the following two will form the other. As for the remaining four, they will officially be eliminated from the tournament.

The Main Event

Though our headliner is simply for bragging rights, it will be interesting to see how the two teams do, because this is a matchup that could very well be the one in the finale. Joey Els & Sergio Vicente set a new TUW record for the largest amount of views EVER. As a reward, they will get their first ever main event.

But… Austin Luff & Steven Rae are just getting started. And they made a statement in their first matchup together this season. Needless to say, these next two weeks are going to be awesome!
