TUW 11 Results: Vega vs. Payne

Read Time:6 Minute, 7 Second

The Ultimate Writer: Season 3 is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition of article views. Winners this week were determined when highest article views went head-to-head.

This second card this season showcased a killer headliner with the number one Veteran, Katie Vega, taking on the creative newcomer, Leif Payne. This week was one-week long and the winners will move on in the bracket. Losers will be up for elimination, so tune in to see who get eliminated.

Below are the results for the second round of TUW.

Katie Vega (62 Views) def. Leif Payne (7 Views) via first-round TKO.

Last season’s winner is just running through the competition this season. Her win streak continues as Katie moves now to 5-1 in TUW, catching up to some of the best records in the competition.

Leif unfortunately fell short yet again, although his content is seriously great. He’s going to have to figure out how to maneuver in this competition if he wants to compete. If he’s safe after elimination, his focus should be on promoting his content on multiple platforms more.

Katie is now closer to becoming the first 2x Ultimate Writer. Can she go all the way?

Connor Rogowsky (110 Views) def. Dreux Stamford (0 Views) via first-round submission in 30 seconds.

Though it was a rather easy matchup, Connor still did his thing proving that he is absolutely the one to beat this season. Representing for the Veterans, he gets his second win this season and is now one step closer to winning it all. We hope Dreux gets eliminated, but if he is kept around for strategic purposes, it’ll be interesting to see how it goes… Especially if he does end up getting replaced.

Does Connor finally get to remove the “runner-up” next to his name when speaking of TUW? There’s only one way to find out. Tune in next week!

Lee Brown (11 Views) def. Brandon Sibcy (10 Views) via split decision.

I don’t think we’ve ever seen a closer result than this one… But wow! Lee pulls off the upset win against Brandon, who was tied for the best record of TUW. Unfortunately that means Brandon is up for elimination from the competition. But it does mean Lee moves on to the next round, and he really does work hard.

Can Lee begin to turn things around this season and go on a win streak?

Austin Luff (63 Views) def. Juan Reneo (32 Views) via third-round KO.

One of our matchups to watch this week officially comes to a close and Austin Luff has pulled off the upset! His appreciation for Jake Paul got him the win this week too, so we’re sure he’s ecstatic about that. Unfortunately, this means that one of the competition favorites will be up for elimination. Juan tried his best this week though, however, he wasn’t able to get the job done.

Does the sole Canadian in the competition finally win the title of The Ultimate Writer? Continue to tune in weekly to find out…

Doug Murray (24 Views) def. Akhilesh Gannavarapu (1 View) via first-round KO in under a minute.

Wow! Doug takes down the #2 seed on his team! It seems he is starting to get into the swing of things in the competition. Which means, he can only improve from here on out. Doug’s win makes him move on in the competition, while our sole competitor from India, Akhilesh, is officially up for elimination.

Can Doug be the second Newbie ever to win the title of The Ultimate Writer?

Cole Henry (296 Views) def. Josh Diaz (2 Views) via first-round KO in 40 seconds.

The man to watch this season pulls off yet another dominant win this week, taking out the #1 seeded Newbie. Cole really is going to be tough to beat this season, so we hope the cast is up for the challenge. As for Josh, unfortunately he is up for elimination with a few others on his team.

Can Cole win the whole thing in his first season of TUW since returning to The Scrap?

Dylan Fritts (99 Views) def. Ryan Truland (90 Views) via split decision.

What. A. Heartbreaker. One of the Darkhorse’s of Season 3 has officially been defeated. It was a close one too… But Dylan did great this week, coming through for his Newbie squad. Dylan is one of few pro wrestling content creators on the site, so it’s exciting to see him do well this season. He officially moves on to the next round of The Ultimate Writer and Ryan will unfortunately be up for elimination.

Can Dylan become the first pro wrestling writer to win The Ultimate Writer?

Kevin Varghese (129 Views) def. Jake Foley (39 Views) via second-round submission.

Owwwieeee is Kevin a problem in this competition. He took out Jake with ease this round, putting him through to the next round. Unfortunately he took out a fellow teammate, but if Kevin makes it to the end, he could very well win it all for his team. This does mean that one of the competition favorites is up for elimination, but don’t count Jake out just yet. Season 3 is just getting started and we have lots in store…

Does Kevin make it all the way to the finale this season? Make sure you tune in all season long to find out!

The Veterans take their lead even further this week, beating the Newbies 5-3 again in round two. See the updated Season 3 Bracket below.
