Read Time:1 Minute, 48 Second

The first round of The Ultimate Writer Season 5 has officially come to a close… TUW 23 featured a Battle Royale where all the contestants went go head-to-head to determine the season’s bracket and our contestant rankings.

If you didn’t know, TUW is a competition for The Scrap’s staff. This year will feature every content creator that works for the site in a competition of article views. The winners will be determined weekly when highest article views go head-to-head to determine The Ultimate Writer (unless otherwise specified). This first round was two weeks long, and each contestant’s highest viewed article (each week) was added together for their total score.

The Scrap staff participating in TUW Season 5 will be competing for the grand prize of $150 and their choice of a WWE or UFC NFT (Non-Fungible Token).

Joey Els replaces Greg Matthews in the competition due to inactivity and claims the #1 seed in the competition’s bracket

In an odd turn of events we did not expect, Joey Els returns to TUW after winning last season alongside Katie Vega. Due to Greg Matthews wasting our time, we was scrapped from the team. With the new change, the level of competition has certainly elevated. See the official season’s rankings below…

#1. Joey Els (4,300 total views)
#2. Austin Luff (1,139 total views)
#3. Shawn Bitter (655 total views)
#4. Lewis Simpson (381 total views)

Note: The tournament this season is double elimination. So, many scenarios can play out moving forward…

With the bracket officially set, who do you think takes home the title of The Ultimate Writer?
