What should Undisputed Era do next?

Read Time:3 Minute, 12 Second

Some of WWE’s biggest stars are the group of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Roderick Strong, also known as Undisputed Era.

The group is undeniably the face of NXT and their leader is NXT Champion, so it presents the question, what should WWE do with them? I think there is two options, leave them in NXT or send them to main roster.

In this article I will look at both options and pick the best one.

Stay in NXT

Undisputed Era is and has been the foundation of NXT for several months, since Cole, Fish and O’Reilly debuted in August of 2017 at Takeover Brooklyn 3. With Roderick Strong shockingly joining the group in April of the following year to help Fish and O’Reilly win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

I’m just going to get right to my main point here. NXT is moving to USA Network with a 2-hour live show. This means NXT will be on a platform bigger than ever, and needs stars that will bring in and keep viewers. Keep them in NXT, give each of them a championship and make them the face of a brand.

This is the most obvious option because in my opinion NXT will become WWE’s biggest weekly show beating Raw and SmackDown. Making Undisputed Era the face of that brand is a no-brainer to me, and they have the talent to carry this brand for many more months.

Go to Main Roster

This is the more unlikely option I think, call the group up to Main Roster. I’m not one of the people that’s afraid of how they’ll be booked because they are so talented they would be fine.

If they did come to the main roster, I Imagine Fox would want them and we’d see them on SmackDown. There are a ton of dream matches for them on the blue brand in the tag and singles division. Fish and O’Reilly vs. New Day, or Uso’s is the stuff dreams are made of. Adam Cole vs. guys like Bryan, Kofi, Andrade (again), Mysterio, Aleister Black (again) there is so many options creatively.

I do think they would be more at risk of getting lost in the shuffle on Raw. Adam Cole as WWE Champion, Fish and O’Reilly being tag champs and Strong being Intercontinental Champion is something that would be amazing, especially under the Fox banner.

There are so many fresh matches and fresh stories that Undisputed Era on SmackDown would be a breath of fresh air for the group.

My Choice: I think Undisputed Era should stay in NXT.

With NXT going to war with AEW on Wednesday nights come October, The Undisputed Era need to be on the frontlines. USA Network is a huge platform and Undisputed Era is the perfect group to be the face of the brand.

Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle, Johnny Gargano, and others are big stars. I’m not taking away from them. However, Undisputed Era has been the foundation of the brand since 2017, and them going to the main roster would leave a huge gap that NXT can’t afford going into the Wednesday Night Wars.

I think NXT will be a big focus for the company and taking away the brand’s biggest stars would be detrimental to everybody. The call up wouldn’t benefit Undisputed Era or the show they move to, and it would do more harm to NXT. Therefore, I think it is common sense that Undisputed Era gets draped in gold, and keeps establishing NXT as the best brand in pro wrestling.
