WWE NXT call-ups we could see after WrestleMania 39

Read Time:4 Minute, 11 Second

Before WrestleMania 39 takes over the SoFi Stadium this weekend, NXT Stand and Deliver will showcase WWE’s top talent produced by their developmental system.

The NXT PLE will be headlined by Bron Breakker, as he puts his NXT Championship on the line against the people’s choice, Carmelo Hayes. We’ll also see the next NXT Women’s Championship defended in a ladder match, the North American title on the line, and both Tag Team Championships showcased in epic matchups.

Though we have to wait and see how things play out, we thought it would be fun to discuss the more likely call-ups that could happen after Sunday night. Read about the six names that could be on the main roster over the next few weeks…

Cameron Grimes

So this selection is kind of cheating, since we know Cameron Grimes is getting prepared for his main roster debut. It’s tough to debut on the main roster from NXT sometimes, because fans don’t always know who you are. It looks like WWE is taking the slow approach with Grimes, as they have been exposing him on house shows to gauge the crowd’s reaction.

You have to think that at this point, he can show up on WWE TV at any point in time. It’s highly likely that the time will be shortly after WrestleMania 39. Shawn Michaels has teased several NXT wrestlers leaving the brand soon. Surely, Cameron Grimes is at the top of the list…

Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker has put NXT on his back since becoming the promotion’s World Champion. When the brand shifted to NXT 2.0, he was at the forefront, leading the new generation every Tuesday night. Now that he’s pretty much ran through the division, its inevitable we see him drop the belt to Carmelo Hayes and debut on the main roster. He’s explosive, huge, and intense, just like Vince likes them…

There’s not much more to say on Breakker. He’s ready, and if he’s not – it’s now or never. Ideally, he doesn’t come up alone. But regardless of his next steps, the Steiner son needs to be on Raw or SmackDown before the year ends. But expect it to be much, much sooner.

The Creed Brothers

Julius & Brutus Creed have done some fun things in NXT since debuting. From forming the heel faction, Diamond Mine, to capturing the belts and proving they could do this WWE thing alone… They have been unstoppable and have shown WWE’s focus on bringing in college athletes can work well if done right. These two have become fan favorites and have stepped up to the plate every single time.

Though it would be nice to see them as NXT Tag Team Champions again, their time on the black-and-gold brand should come to an end. They have teased The Shield 2.0 alongside Bron Breakker, and have even tried to call upon UFC Hall-of-Famer Daniel Cormier to lead their faction.

Regardless of what’s next, the big-show is near and we can’t wait to see it unfold.

Zoey Starks

I heard Damage Ctrl is looking to expand? If so, look no further than Zoey Starks. Though she has had several failed attempts at capturing the NXT Women’s Championship, she has held gold alongside Iyo Sky back when they were NXT Tag Team Champions. That connection alone, and the fact she is now a heel on NXT, makes it seem like the stars are aligning for the 29-year-old.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Bayley revealed several names were pitched for Damage Ctrl. Though Zoey wasn’t an original name, she has the look to mesh well with the group. We also saw her working alongside Charlotte Flair behind the scenes to get her ready for her SmackDown return. Starks has also received tons of praise from people like HBK, so you know they know she’s ready.

In an insanely stacked women’s division with far too many names to remember, it’s just time for Zoey to spread her wings. I would not be surprised if we saw her on Raw or SmackDown in the coming weeks.

Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller has been hot on the mic, making most of every opportunity that has come his way. Over the last year and a half or so, WWE has been getting him ready for the main roster. He’s been in matches with AJ Styles and segments with the legendary Shawn Michaels. At WrestleMania 39 weekend, Waller will go head-to-head with Mr. NXT himself, Johnny Gargano.

If they aren’t going to give him a NXT title run, then it’s time for the big leagues. Not only is Grayson one of the best on the mic, he’s extremely entertaining, and could do so much if called up. Only time will tell though… But something tells me, his time on NXT is coming to an end.

Who do you think we’ll see on the main roster after WrestleMania 39? Let us know in the comments…
