Your guide to TUW 16: The Season 3 Finale

Read Time:3 Minute, 8 Second

The seventh and final round of The Ultimate Writer Season 3 has been underway since last week.

If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports writers around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly and for this round specifically, total views will get you the win in Week 1 and your highest article view count will secure the title of The Ultimate Writer.

This seventh card showcased the participants in the running for TUW. They were allowed to select a partner who would be able to add to their overall view count. The catch… If this “partner” outscores them, they take their spot in the finale. As for Week 2, the winners of this past week will take the entire total into this week. Now their highest article, added up with their Week 1 total, will determine our winner this season.

Who will be the third-ever Ultimate Writer? It’s officially an all-Veteran finale…

Will it be Katie Vega, again?

Katie has been dominating the competition. Ever since her debut in TUW Season 2, she’s become a crafty Veteran who knows how to maneuver in this game. Winning the show last season after an insane twist that allowed her to return via Redemption Week, she’s a prime example that ANYTHING can happen in The Ultimate Writer.

But her spot in the finale was challenged when she selected Ryan Truland as her partner… She slid by this week by just 9 views separating the two. If she’s going to be the first-ever writer to win the show back-to-back, she’s going to have to pull out some tricks out of her bag.

Will it Connor Rogowsky finally get his first TUW title?

Connor was the only writer to take this first week of the finale seriously. He takes out the last Newbie standing to reclaim his spot in the competition. After he was selected by Kevin Varghese as a partner, the two were going back and forth claiming that top spot. Reminiscent to their first encounter, Connor took the lead on the last day, beating Kevin by 135 views.

Both men had the top views of the competition in Week 1, so if Connor can pull off the win and keep the lead, then he will finally get his first TUW title. But this territory is not unfamiliar with the Veteran, he’s been in this exact spot twice before. Can he finally become The Ultimate Writer? Tune in next week to find out…

Will Juan Reneo win his first finale?

We thought Juan’s partner would take more advantage of the opportunity, but in the end, he defeated Dylan Fritts quite easily. Beating him by 71 votes, Juan finally enters his first finale and could be the first winner from Spain to claim the title.

Juan has truly started to get in his element and it shows with his readership increasing since he started with The Scrap. We’re excited to see how he does this week, he absolutely deserves to be in the finale.

Or will Cole Henry get the job done in his first TUW ever?

Cole has been the front runner all season, but started to slow down as the competition continued. Still the only undefeated player on both teams, he will enter the finale in his first TUW which is impressive. The crazy part is he has done it all with one article pretty much…

Can he do what Katie did last season and win it all in his first season, but more dominantly? Or will he come up short at the very end? Cole is definitely one to watch as the week continues.
