Zac Pauga plans to ‘outclass opponent in every aspect’ at LFA 98

Zac Pauga (1-0) returns to the cage at LFA 98, six months after his promotional and professional debut. The Elevation Fight Team prospect looks to continue his undefeated ways against Ashby Thomas (1-0) in the card opener.

With regional MMA suffering last year, derailing plans for many, it’s great to see LFA returning with a bang, hosting multiple cards in January. Though Pauga was able to go 2-0 last year, he too was affected. “It was always my plan to go pro in 2020,” said Pauga. “I was hoping to get 4-5 pro wins on my record before the year was over and push for a big promotion in 2021, but obviously COVID set everyone back a year.”

Feeling set back a year, Pauga is confident heading into this fight against Thomas. He may not have been as busy as he had hoped, but 2020 allowed Zac to get one-on-one time with his coaches Curtis Blaydes and Alistair Overeem. With all three of them preparing for fights, Pauga feels ready to put on a show come Friday night.

“I think my opponent is going to try and brawl and make things dirty,” said Pauga. “I am going to ouclass him [Thomas] in every aspect.”

Pauga gets to kickstart his 2021 and get back on track at LFA 98, live in Park City, Kansas. The card will stream on UFC Fight Pass, starting at 9pm ET.
