Pro Wrestling Spotlight: Mr. Iguana
Mexico, the birthplace of Lucha Libre, has produced countless talented wrestlers throughout history—one of the most charismatic being Mr. Iguana.
Like many of us, Mr. Iguana fell in love with pro wrestling at a young age. He idolized legends like Eddie Guerrero, Dragon Kid, and The Great Muta. Icons whose influence is evident every time he steps into the ring.

It was the larger-than-life characters of pro wrestling, the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, and his unique love for iguanas that ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in the squared circle.
Mr. Iguana hails from Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa in northwestern Mexico—a city rich in culture, history, and natural beauty. Known for its lush botanical gardens and stunning colonial-era cathedrals, Culiacán also has a unique connection to the creature that inspired his ring name, the iguana.
The city is home to a variety of wildlife, and iguanas are often spotted roaming freely in parks and gardens. For Mr. Iguana, they represent his hometown roots. However, they also shape his colorful in-ring persona, helping him stand out in the world of Lucha Libre.
Throughout his career, he has competed in a variety of memorable matches. But, his personal favorite was an Escalera de la Recompensa (ladder match) against Vazco and Taurus for Kaoz Lucha.
As for his favorite moment in wrestling? That came courtesy of a fan vote, which earned him a dream match against Wagner Jr. in AAA. Check out the full match below:
