Brandon Royval Set for Surgery Days After UFC 329 Victory Over Lone’er Kavanagh
Brandon Royval is set to undergo surgery tomorrow following his war at UFC 329.
The flyweight contender shared a video on his Instagram Story from inside a medical office, where he showed a computer monitor displaying an X-ray of his foot.

Royval did not provide additional details on the injury or expected recovery timeline.
The surgery announcement comes just days after Royval (18-9) secured a hard-fought submission victory over Lone’er Kavanagh at UFC 329 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Royval survived significant adversity during the fight, including a second-round knockdown, before rallying to submit Kavanagh with a rear-naked choke in the third round.
The performance earned both fighters Fight of the Night honors.
Following the victory, Royval expressed interest in a quick return to competition. He mentioned his child due in October and his desire to stay active, potentially targeting UFC 330.
Unfortunately, injuries have been a recurring storyline throughout Royval’s career. The flyweight contender has previously dealt with shoulder surgeries and a recent MCL tear that did not require an operation. The timing of this procedure could impact Royval’s plans to remain active in the stacked 125-pound division.
Royval’s recovery timeline remains unknown. Any extended absence could slow the momentum he built with another impressive performance inside the Octagon.
Regardless, the flyweight contender remains one of the division’s most dangerous and entertaining fighters as he continues his pursuit of another title opportunity.
