Don’t Sleep on Alessandro Costa vs. Alden Coria
UFC heads to San Antonio, Texas, this Saturday, September 13, with an epic lineup of fights. In the main event No. 2-ranked featherweight Diego Lopes clashes with No. 10-ranked featherweight Jean Silva.
But don’t overlook the prelims, as rising flyweights Alessandro Costa and Alden Coria cross paths.
Tough Flyweights Ready to Battle
Brazil’s battle-tested flyweight Alessandro Costa (14-4) faces a tough challenge at Noche UFC. He welcomes the skilled UFC newcomer Alden Coria (10-3).
Costa, 29, will be making his fifth UFC appearance come Saturday. The well-rounded Brazilian has experienced both victories and defeats. He holds a record of 2-2 since joining back in December 2022. That said, he has proven to be dangerous inside the cage.
Both of his UFC victories have come via stoppage and earned Costa performance of the night bonuses. The Brazilian is a defined fight finisher with eleven of his fourteen wins coming inside the distance. Costa has only fallen short to the likes of Steve Erceg and Amir Albazi inside the UFC. He plans to challenge Coria with a tough introduction to the big leagues.
Coria, 27, makes his highly anticipated UFC debut. The skilled striker will have his hands full in what is undoubtedly the toughest challenge of his career. Coria comes from a fairly proven regional scene resume.
He fought for LFA and Fury FC, accumulating an impressive record against solid competition. Coria is known as a fight finisher with nine wins coming via stoppage. He currently rides a four-fight win streak via stoppage going into Saturday night.
UFC matchmakers did a great job with this prelim bout. Both flyweights look to win in emphatic fashion and aim to impose their will inside the octagon. Fans can expect an entertaining result regardless of who wins.
