Mike Perry set to meet Vicente Luque in co-main event at UFC Uruguay
First reported by @MMAUncensored and confirmed by Mike Perry himself, UFC Uruguay just booked a banger of a co-main event.
Mike Perry (13-4 MMA) will meet Vicente Luque (16-6-1 MMA) when the promotion heads to the South American country for the first time in August.
Luque has been leaving a trail of bodies in his wake over the last two years. βThe Silent Assasinβ is currently on a five-fight win streak and has won his last four via KO/TKO. During his current streak, Luque has finished the likes of Bryan Barberena, Jalin Turner and Niko Price. Luque has also been awarded three βPerformance of the Nightβ bonuses in that time.
Perry had a rocky 2018 going 1-2 in the promotion. βPlatinumβ has since rebounded, picking up a βFight of Nightβ bonus and a victory after his bout with Alex Oliveira in April. The performance bonus marked Perryβs third as well.
UFC Uruguay is scheduled to go down at the Antel Arena in Montevideo on August 10th. Womenβs flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko (17-3 MMA) will be looking for revenge when she defends her title against Liz Carmouche (13-6 MMA). Carmouche won via controversial TKO due to a cut in their first meeting back in 2010.
The event also features the debut of Cyril Gane (3-0 MMA) as he meets fellow promotional newcomer Raphael Pessoa Nunes (9-0 MMA). Gane, a French kickboxer, is considered by many to be one of the top prospects in the heavyweight division.
Bouts currently scheduled for UFC Uruguay:
Valentina Shevchenko vs Liz Carmouche
Mike Perry vs Vicente Luque
Cyril Gane vs Raphael Pessoa Nunes
Tecia Torres vs Mariana Rodriguez
Enrique Barzola vs Bobby Moffett
Geraldo de Freitas vs Chris Gutierrez
Taila Santos vs Ashlee Evans-Smith
Rogerio Bontorin vs Raulian Paiva
Veronica Macedo vs Rachael Ostovich
