Read Time:2 Minute, 28 Second

Round one of The Ultimate Writer Season 4 has officially come to a close, and it was undoubtedly one of the most important rounds this season.

If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly and for this round specifically, the team’s overall article view count secured them the win.

This first card helped us the determine the team’s rankings to start, and began to set the official bracket for the season… We found new contenders and front runners after seeing how Lewis Simpson and Makoa Goble did, showcasing they really did come to win it all in their rookie year.

We also over-projected some teams to do well, and they fell short.

Battle Royale: Katie Vega & Shawn Bitter vs. Dylan Fritts & Juan Reneo vs. Cole Henry & Lee Brown vs. Josh Diaz & Dylan Bowker vs. Joey Els & Sergio Vicente vs. Lewis Simpson & Makoa Goble

The first card featured an all-out battle to see which teams would come out in front to set the tone for the season. Though it was not an elimination round, winners here would ensure a higher ranking and better placement on the season’s bracket.

But we can’t share the full bracket until you are introduced to the last two teams of Season 4 and our initial curveballs are thrown… But in the meantime, check out the official rankings:

Winners: Lewis Simpson & Makoa Goble (3,747 Views)

Perhaps the biggest statement made last week was the team of Lewis Simpson & Makoa Goble. Having the best debut in TUW history, they destroyed the competition by more than a lot. These two have officially made themselves the team to watch in Season 4.

For those that follow TUW, it’s quite insane that a pair of newbies are at the top of the rankings, but we’re not surprised… The Scrap has recruited some of the best content producers and will continue to debut strong teams this season.

So this means that after next week, we’ll get the full bracket and be introduced to the final roster of teams. In the meantime, the top three teams of this past week have solidified their places in the competition and are safe in round two. See below:

It wouldn’t be The Ultimate Writer if we didn’t throw in some twists… Know there is a huge one planned for the next round, including a new team in the competition. Stay tuned to find out the full details…
