Read Time:3 Minute, 53 Second

Regional MMA keeps the momentum going in 2025 with two more can’t-miss events on UFC Fight Pass. On Friday, January 31, LUX 49 features an LFL welterweight championship headliner atop an 11-fight card. Then, on Saturday, February 1, CFFC 139 hits Philadelphia with a stacked card headlined by a flyweight championship main event.

Don’t know what to expect? We break down the key matchups and spotlight rising prospects you won’t want to miss.

LUX 49

LUX Fight League is one of the most underrated promotions on UFC Fight Pass. While it may not be as well-known outside the United States, one watch is all it takes to get hooked. Mexican fighters are known for their relentless fighting spirit and all-action style—now imagine an entire card filled with them… Expect nothing but fireworks.

The Top of The Bill

A new welterweight champion will be crowned in the main event as the surging Raúl Zaragoza (4-0) takes on Carlos Arana (7-3). Zaragoza, a homegrown talent who turned pro with LUX in 2022, looks to kick off 2025 with championship gold. Meanwhile, ‘Goku’ enters the fight on a four-fight win streak. Like Armando Gjetja in CFFC, Arana stumbled in his first two promotional bouts. But now, he finds himself fighting for the LUX title for the first time.

In the co-main event, a thrilling bantamweight clash is set as Pedro Rubio (6-2) faces undefeated prospect Damián Fernández (3-0) in a high-stakes showdown.

Additional Prospects To Watch

While the headliners take center stage, the standout prospect to watch is Roberto Zambrano (5-1). The 22-year-old Ecuadorian talent makes his LUX debut, looking to make an immediate impact. The rest of the card is a mix of seasoned veterans in well-matched bouts and newcomers making their professional debuts.

CFFC 139

2024 was another solid year for Cage Fury Fighting Championships. We witnessed the undefeated Bilal Hasan’s championship birth, Eric Nolan’s back-to-back highlight reel KOs. Even Joey Ruquet’s shocking defeat of Khuseyn Shaykhaev. While there are many moments to look back on, another year of MMA lies ahead for the brand.

The first card of the year, CFFC 139, will be headlined by Bilal Hasan (5-0) vs. Brian Hauser (3-1) for Hasan’s flyweight title. It also features a litany of prospects local to the northeastern region of the country. CFFC 139 will take place this Saturday, February 1st, live from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The prelims will stream live on OnlyFans starting at 6PM ET. The main card will headline the weekend on UFC Fight Pass starting at 8pm ET.

The Top of The Bill

CFFC 139’s main event features one of the highest rated prospects in the world. Bilal Hasan won his championship via submission against Jose Leon (2-5). The known striker shocked fans and media alike with his first professional submission victory. On the other side, Brian Hauser looks to step in and spoil Hasan’s meteoric rise in his promotional debut. As it currently stands, Hasan could get the UFC call with a win. It seems it’s only a matter of time before a major promotion signs him. Hauser’s job is to do his best to utilize his extensive amateur and professional experience come fight night.

The co-main event features another fighter returning off a highlight reel KO. Armando Gjetja (9-5) secured a brutal first-round KO of UFC vet Collin Anglin (9-6) last time out. After losing his first two CFFC fights, Gjetja shifted his focus on his mental preparation. As a result, he stands only one or two wins away from securing another title shot.

Additional Prospects To Watch

In addition, the card will showcase three Dante River BJJ talents: Darwin Pena (1-0), Nick Galanti (2-1), and Jose ‘Cheeto’ Rodriguez (1-0). At CFFC 138, Eric Nolan and current light heavyweight champion, Luke Fernandez (4-0), made massive statements with insane finishes. Dante Rivera BJJ has been riding high off the gym’s success as of late. With ‘Cheeto’ and Pena up next for there gym, those are certainly two names to keep an eye on.

Pena and Rodriguez are two pupils of the Iowa Central Wrestling program. A program notably housing names like Jon Jones, Colby Covington, and others. Now, like their peers before them, both Pena and Rodriguez will get a chance to build onto their initial resumes.

With the variety of potential stars on this card, CFFC 139 is one fans won’t want to miss.
