Together, we break down each matchup heading into WrestleMania:
Card Preview & Predictions for WrestleMania 42
WrestleMania Night 2 is set to deliver a mix of generational clashes, title implications, and career-defining moments across the board. While some outcomes feel predictable on the surface, WWE has shown time and time again that WrestleMania is where stories can shift in an instant.
From legacy-defining main events to breakout opportunities for the next wave of stars, Night 2 carries just as much weight, if not more, as anything we’ve seen so far.
With so many moving parts across each matchup, we’ve got you covered. Take a look at our breakdown and predictions for every match on the card:

World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns is going to absolutely cook.
I’m torn on who wins, but this one has to come down to the story. There’s a reason Roman is back. When things start to cool off, WWE leans on The Bloodline, since that’s when everything feels the hottest.
At the same time, this is CM Punk’s first WrestleMania main event closing the entire weekend. You’d think WWE would want that moment to hit and stick. But then there’s everything else.
Punk has been getting mixed reactions lately, and the larger TKO vs. WWE dynamic has been quietly building in the background. That opens the door for outside involvement, especially someone like Pat McAfee, who could easily factor in and cost Punk the match if he’s aligned behind the scenes.
If that’s the direction, it all connects.
The stories feel like they’re converging in a way that favors Roman Reigns. The Bloodline regaining control, outside forces playing a role, and Punk getting pulled into something bigger than just the match. I think The Tribal Chief takes it.
Prediction: Roman Reigns

WWE Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
I’ll keep this one simple. It felt like WWE had gold when the tension between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley started to feel real. But, then they backed off and went in a different direction. It wasn’t until B-Fab and Michin came to Jade’s aid and aligned with her that things really clicked again.
That decision feels important, and it’s the reason Jade wins. There’s no way her reinforcements are getting beat down week after week, only to come together right before WrestleMania, just for her to lose. If she does, what was the point?
WWE kind of needs Jade to win here. Her title defenses haven’t featured opponents on Rhea’s level, and it’s time she starts mixing it up with the biggest names in the division.
Prediction: Jade Cargill

United States Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams
On our Night 1 predictions stream, we talked about the generational clash happening at WrestleMania and how important this year is. WWE has a real chance to make a statement by having the new generation win on the grandest stage of them all, and this match is no different.
Sami Zayn winning the title felt a bit out of nowhere, and the quick turnaround of that match made it feel like a setup. Like they were fast-tracking things to get to this moment for Trick Williams.
Everything about this screams breakout. He’s got the presence, the momentum, and even crossover appeal with Lil Yachty backing him. He already feels like a bona fide superstar.
This is the moment to pull the trigger. So I’m picking Trick Williams to walk out of Allegiant Stadium with his Lemon Pepper Steppers and gold on his shoulder.
Prediction: Trick Williams

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Penta (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Rey Mysterio
It feels a bit premature to take the title off Penta here. But if you’re going to do it, a ladder match is the way. The unpredictability gives WWE an out without hurting him.
There aren’t many strong stories driving this match. But there is momentum, especially with Je’Von Evans. Since arriving on the main roster, he’s been building serious hype.
Even going back to the Royal Rumble, there was real buzz around him. Media outlets were reaching out to celebrities for predictions, and a surprising number of them were picking Je’Von Evans to win. That kind of organic attention doesn’t happen by accident.
WWE has something there. If they want to capitalize on that momentum, this is the moment to strap the rocket to him and give him his first title on the main roster. So, I’m going with they do.
Prediction: Je’Von Evans

Demon Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio
Dominik Mysterio has been everywhere in the lead-up to WrestleMania. From covering Paper Magazine to showing up in AAA while holding the Mega Championship, he feels like one of the most visible stars heading into the weekend.
At the same time, this build has felt like the slow destruction of Judgment Day.
I hate that they spoiled the return of Demon Finn Bálor for WrestleMania. But, that announcement changes everything. Dom feels a little tied up right now; with Liv’s storyline, outside appearances, and the AAA Mega Championship not even being on the line here.
Meanwhile, this match means something different for Finn. He’s been very open about the fact that the Demon has not won yet in WWE. And that, has to change. This feels like that moment.
I’m picking Demon Finn Bálor.
Prediction: Finn Bálor

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
This matchup has surprisingly been the best build of the WrestleMania season, and it’s not even close. What makes it more impressive is that they’ve barely had to put hands on each other. Everything about this feud feels believable, and Oba Femi comes across like a legitimate threat.
There’s a real sense of timing here, too. With Brock Lesnar likely winding down, this feels like the perfect moment to elevate the next monster in WWE. And there’s no bigger way to do that than beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Oba needs this. And while I’m not fully confident WWE pulls the trigger just yet, I’m picking Oba Femi to win here.
Prediction: Oba Femi
