Card Preview & Predictions for WWE Royal Rumble 2026
The Royal Rumble is shaping up to be a must-watch event. Below, we break down each matchup, provide our predictions, and highlight the key storylines ahead of the big night:

30-Man Royal Rumble Match
Given that WWE surprised us last year with Jey Uso winning, it’s hard to see them going with another shock winner this time around. After his loss to CM Punk, Bron Breakker feels like a strong frontrunner to win and main event WrestleMania this year.
Part of me thinks Roman Reigns returns, and I originally believed that was how we’d get him back in the WrestleMania main event against Cody Rhodes. But now that I write it out, I’m not so sure, and Cody lost his belt. Oba Femi could also debut and win outright, especially if WWE wants to make a statement with him.
This feels like a year where someone new gets the nod, so I’m going with my gut. Bron Breakker wins and goes on to challenge CM Punk at WrestleMania 42.
Prediction: Bron Breakker

30-Woman Royal Rumble Match
The most exciting Royal Rumbles are the years where the winner is not so obvious. WWE has done a fairly good job of keeping several women in the spotlight as realistic options. You also have lingering returns that could change everything the moment their entrance music hits.
In an ideal world, Bianca Belair returns, wins the Rumble, makes history, and main events WrestleMania opposite Jade Cargill. This could also be the year Liv Morgan finally wins it all. They could give it to Asuka and have her make history as well, especially if this ends up being her final Rumble. Rhea Ripley will always be in the conversation too.
Here’s hoping WWE surprises us with something we didn’t see coming. Still, I’m going with who I want and who I genuinely think takes it.
Prediction: Liv Morgan

AJ Styles vs. Gunther
This one is tough. Logically, why would AJ Styles retire at the Royal Rumble when this is his final year in wrestling? Then you factor in the subtle teases from his appearance at TNA Genesis, and suddenly it starts to make sense. Would WWE actually pull the trigger on something like that? I think they might.
There’s also a world where AJ Styles wins the Royal Rumble to save his career and main events WrestleMania in his final year. I honestly wouldn’t hate that scenario. But trying to stay grounded here, I think this ends in some kind of DQ or non-finish that keeps AJ active on the roster while protecting Gunther from a clean loss.
Prediction: Ends in Disqualification
