WWE SmackDown: Results from January 8, 2019

The Scrap has WWE SmackDown results for every match and promo on the first card of 2019.

Advertised for tonight: Becky Lynch, Carmella, and Charlotte in a Triple Threat to determine Asuka’s next title challenger, The Usos vs The Bar, and more.

Check the SmackDown results below.

The show begins with Daniel Bryan near the food and merchandise section of the arena, talking to the people. He says each one of these people is weak, submissive, impotent and takes shots at AJ. R-Truth comes out of nowhere and attacks Bryan.

Daniel Bryan def. R-Truth via pinfall.

After the match, Bryan gets ambushed by AJ Styles.

Andrade “Cien” Almas & Samoa Joe def. Mustafa Ali & Rey Mysterio via pinfall.

Carmella gets a promo backstage, followed by The Usos.

Back from commercial, Miz walks in on Shane McMahon, complaining about the Usos getting a shot at a tag title shot before they did. Shane says they’re far away from the title picture

The Bar def. The Usos via pinfall.

The match was interrupted by Mandy Rose, who distracted Jimmy. The Miz comes out and campaigns for him and Shane McMahon. They end up getting the next shot at the Tag Team Champions.

After the match, Naomi fights both Sonya Deville and Rose backstage.

Promo by Charlotte before the main event.

Becky Lynch def. Carmella & Charlotte via submission. 

The show ends with Lynch and Asuka facing off in the middle of the ring. It will be Lynch vs Asuka at the WWE Royal Rumble for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
