Larissa Pacheco makes history in 2023 PFL Playoffs
Brazil’s Larissa Pacheco (22-4, 11 KO/TKO’s) made history last night in the 2023 PFL Playoffs with her 14-second stoppage of Ukraine’s Olena Kolesnyk in the co-main event. The pair found themselves squaring off against each other for the third time, but the result stayed the same… Pacheco via 1st Round KO.
After communicating with the PFL, it was confirmed that Larissa’s 14-second KO is the fastest knockout in PFL women’s history. A feather in the already heavily accoladed cap of the 2022 PFL Champion, Pacheco.
Olena Kolsenyk came into this matchup riding a 2-fight win streak with decisions over Aspen Ladd and Yoko Higashi. It felt like the third time was going to be the charm against Pacheco. The agony of MMA; seeing someone’s months of hard work and preparation, with such high stakes, unravel in the literal blink of an eye. It is unsure what is next for Olena, as a KO like that has historically been challenging to come back from, but hoping she recovers and we see her again inside the PFL Smart Cage.
The PFL Finals matchup with Pacheco and Russia’s Marina Mokhnatkina goes down on Friday November 24th with the location still TBA. With how well-rounded and aggressive Pacheco is, many are anticipating her to clench the $1 Million in back-to-back years. However, overlooking Marina could lead to a biblical upset.
Who do you have in the finals? Pacheco or Mokhnatkina? Let us know in the comments…
