The UFC Tag Team Division: Factions that could make it big in WWE

There has been a recent trend of MMA fighters wanting to cross over to the world of professional wrestling. We’ve also seen many factions formed on the main roster and NXT.
Many people who are considered headliners in the WWE are or once were part of a group before forming their own success. Although UFC fights are booked one vs one, we thought it would be fun to envision tag teams and factions that could be made.
Below are the MMA teams that we believe could have successful WWE runs in the tag team division.

Potential UFC factions and duos in the WWE
Although the UFC is an individual sport, everyone is part of a gym which produces many talented teammates. In the sport of MMA, teammates rarely fight each other due to being a part of the same gym and having the same coaches. With many MMA fighters making the crossover to the WWE, The Scrap wanted to imagine potential factions or tag teams that could be formed. Here is a list of potential UFC fighters that could have successful and interesting storylines with the WWE's tag team division.

Nunes & Ansaroff
With the women’s division main eventing in the WWE, imagine this team of Nunes and Ansaroff? The strawweight and bantamweight duo could make a statement in the WWE with the women's tag team division recently announced. Both Nunes and Ansaroff could bring forth true power and technical striking abilities. If they didn't want to be a tag team, one could manage the other. Either way, this is definitely a duo you don't want to mess with. Nunes destroyed Cris Cyborg recently, and heading into the WWE as a Champ Champ could be huge for the WWE.

The Diaz Brothers
The Diaz Brothers could be equivalent to The Hardys in the WWE. These brothers like to talk-the-talk, but also like to Stockholm Slap people in the middle of fights. These trash talking bad boys could make it huge in the WWE, bringing back the attitude era with their mean mugging ways. They could easily be tag team champions, taking on the best teams in the division. Although the WWE would have to bleep out most of what they say, the duo would be an interesting team in professional wrestling.

Team Easy Money
Imagine it: the bad boys of the UFC taking out the fighters the WWE wants to get rid of. This team of Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal could easily transition into becoming one of the biggest heel tag teams in the WWE with their trash talking ways and skills to back it up. Covington already has some pro wrestling experience from his short stint with Impact Wrestling, while Masvidal started fighting on the streets for money. Let's get these two in a TLC match and enjoy the mayhem they would bring to a tag team division.

The Shevchenko Sisters
Now that the WWE has announced the women's tag team division, they are going to need more groups on their main roster. The Shevchenko sisters would be a perfect duo for a WWE crossover. They've been fighting their whole lives and know what it takes to capture gold straps. Antonina recently made her UFC debut, while her sister Valentina won the undisputed flyweight championship in a five round scrap with Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Hooker & Adesanya
The Australian duo has been making waves in the UFC as of late with their exciting fights in the Octagon. Adesanya is coming off a huge win against Derek Brunson and is currently scheduled to face the legend, Anderson Silva at UFC 234 in February. Hooker recently lost to Edson Barboza, however, he was on a four fight win streak and proved his toughness going three rounds with the Brazilian. If these two transition to the WWE as a tag team, they could easily be tag team champions. They also have great personalities to put them over with the WWE Universe.

The Irish Mob
WWE has seen some great tag teams; some from the United States and plenty from other countries. Imagine the WWE’s first Irish tag team? These two could be similar to Edge and Christian, being a part of some of the best tag team matches in WWE history. Conor could amount to the same success as hall of famer, Edge, while carrying the team on the mic. This duo could make waves in the WWE and also anger many fans in the process. Regardless, a WrestleMania appearance seems inevitable in McGregor's future and we're ready for it.

Team Alpha Male
Some of the most popular factions in the WWE eventually dismantled and feuded with one another. This team of Cody Garbrandt, TJ Dillashaw, and Uriah Faber would be no different. These three could be equivalent to The Shield (Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose). Just like Amborse recently took the intercontinental championship from his former teammate in Rollins, the same could also be said for TJ when he took No Love's gold strap earlier this year. Each of these men could be lethal together, but even scarier alone. Just like the groups of our past, they could all go their separate ways and amount to their own success too.

Team AKA
This faction could be the UFC's Undisputed Era, filled with all former and current champions. You would have your powerhouses in Cain Velasquez and DC, the pretty boy Luke Rockhold, and their smaller/technical teammate, Khabib Nurmagomedov. DC would be the Adam Cole of the group, being the best on the mic while the others evenly contribute to the team's success with their talents. They all know what it’s like to be champions and they also trained together before getting to the top, being one of the closest group of teammates in MMA today. Truthfully, this could be one of the best factions to ever grace the WWE ring.

The Four Horsewoman of MMA
This one is self-explanatory. Before the Four Horsewoman of the WWE, there were these four: Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, Shayna Baszler, & Jessamyn Duke. These woman love to fight, previously taking women’s mixed martial arts by storm. Imagine these four in the WWE against Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley? This would be the biggest tag match in WWE history and a phenomenal storyline if done properly. Ronda and Baszler currently hold WWE gold and the duo of Duke and Shafir have made their WWE NXT in-ring debuts. At this point, it's only a matter of time we see these eight woman clash in the squared circle.
