Read Time:5 Minute, 14 Second

The world of professional wrestling is entering a new chapter as WWE LFG returns for Season 2 on A&E. With one season now under their belt, the series continues to provide a behind-the-scenes look at what it truly takes to earn a WWE contract—this time with even higher stakes. This season brings back familiar faces from Season 1, while also introducing new talent eager to prove they belong.

Led once again by WWE executives and Hall of Famers Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels, LFG features a stacked coaching lineup. The Undertaker, Booker T, and Bubba Ray Dudley return to guide the next generation, while Michelle McCool joins the series for her first full season as a mentor. Each week, these legends will help shape the superstars of tomorrow. They offer expertise in-ring and on the mic, helping mold the future of WWE one match at a time.

Season 2, Episode 1: ‘A New Season Begins!’

The premiere episode, A New Season Begins! aired on on June 22, 2025 on A&E. Shawn Michaels kicks off the show by celebrating its success, announcing the second season. He introduces the new coach, Michelle McCool, and explains that this season will feature both new competitors and returning fighters, with the prize remaining the same. Since Michelle is the newest coach, she gets the first pick—much to Booker T’s annoyance. Deep down, Booker is still upset about Undertaker winning the LFG Championship last season.

Jeremy Borash and Vic Joseph return as commentators, calling the opening matches featuring WWE LFG Season 1 winners: Tyra Mae Steele vs. Nikkita Lyons, and Jasper Troy vs. Dante Chen. After the matches, a mini Season 1 reunion takes place, with Shawn bringing everyone into the ring so the legends can see what each competitor brings to the table. This moment officially kicks off the LFG Draft.

Prior to everyone getting into the ring, we see Drake Morreaux showing off his alligator skin boots. Next, we’re introduced to Summer Sorrell and former NFL defensive back Trill London. Haze Jameson stands out as a wild child—his personality is definitely an acquired taste. Harlem Lewis also makes an appearance.

Dani Sekelsky returns, determined after feeling walked over last season. She wants to join Undertaker’s team. Meanwhile, Booker T aims to bring Anthony Luke and Penina Tuilaepa back to his squad. Cameras catch Undertaker whispering in Shiloh Hill’s ear, telling him not to perform at his best—since Undertaker has the last pick and wants Shiloh back on his team as his star pupil.

Booker T unleashes on the Future Greats for playing around too much. We then see that Elijah Holyfield is back, and looks better than ever. Michelle McCool has her eyes on Harlem Lewis for his aggression, as well as Zena Sterling. Meanwhile, Tatyanna Dumas nearly injures Haze Jameson twice in a row. The Legends then gather to discuss their picks and set the matches that will kick off Season 2.

After the matches, Michelle makes her first picks, selecting Penina Tuilaepa and Anthony Luke—both of whom were on Team Booker last season. The move ruffles Booker’s feathers, and no other selections are made as the episode comes to a close after he walks off.

The Matches on Episode 1

Tyra Mae Steele def. Nikkita Lyons

The Undertaker is backstage helping Tyra get ready. She’s nervous, but focused. The match was nothing special, but she gets the better of Nikkita Lyons with a pin. The Future Greats watch closely from the back. Meanwhile, Zena Sterling reflects on the moment, vowing to tone down the ditziness. She believes it should have been her making that debut and is now more determined than ever to win.

Jasper Troy def. Dante Chen

This match went exactly as expected. Jasper Troy put on a clinic, dominating Dante Chen from start to finish, despite a few brief moments from Chen. After the quick victory, Oba Femi cut a promo on Jasper, claiming his five seconds of fame are already over.

Backstage after the show, Jasper said it’s his time to eat and acknowledged the fact that the NXT Champion took notice. Anthony Luke also shared his support, saying he’s happy for Jasper and believes this season is his time to shine.

Penina Tuilaepa def. Dani Sekelsky

Penina cuts a promo in front of a live audience, issuing an open challenge that Dani Sekelsky quickly accepts, setting up their match. Before the bout, Undertaker gives Dani a motivating pep talk. She reflects on how their characters are complete opposites and expresses her desire to tell a David vs. Goliath story.

They deliver just that, with both competitors having standout moments and showcasing their unique styles. In the final stretch, Dani locks in the Hell’s Gate submission she learned last season, but Penina powers out, slamming her down before lifting her for a crushing Samoan Slam to secure the win.

Harlem Lewis def. Chris Island

We’re introduced to Harlem Lewis, who immediately shows off his intensity. He tells Anthony Luke that he’s going to beat Chris’ ass. Chris, on the other hand, feels honored to lead a match against a rising Future Great. But right before they head to the ring, tensions boil over and the two get in each other’s faces, exchanging trash talk.

Once the match begins, Harlem impresses. He’s aggressive, composed, and shows that he can hold his own. At times, it felt like he was the one leading the match. Commentary notes that Harlem comes from WWE Evolve, and it shows. Chris has very few standout moments, as Harlem dominates and finishes the match clean with his signature move.

After the match, Harlem reflects on his journey. He shares that his mother is a huge WWE fan, and loves the business. She was thrilled to hear about him joining WWE LFG. However, he also reveals they haven’t spoken since Christmas as they are not on speaking terms right now.
