The Matches on Episode 3

Sirena Linton def. Zena Sterling

Sirena Linton steps into a heel role this time, showing off a more aggressive and in-your-face attitude. While she had her moments, mixing in some great heel tactics like calling out Bubba and using Zena’s hair to choke her, it ultimately was not enough to truly dominate. Being the smaller competitor, she struggled at times as Zena used her size and experience to control much of the match.

Though Zena kept the same character, she brought a more serious edge with fewer ditzy moves and some unique offense. In the end, Sirena scores the win with a dirty pin.

Penina Tuilaepa def. Tatyanna Dumas

Tatyanna debuted new gear and a somewhat heel-ish persona. It felt fresh, but still somewhat similar to what we’ve seen from her before, just with updated gear. Penina Tuilaepa came out the same as usual. But, everything seems to be clicking for her this season and really coming together.

Overall, the match was okay, though Tatyanna still feels a half-step behind. Penina got the win with a spear for the first time that looked ok.

Anthony Luke def. Chris Island

Anthony Luke really is the real deal; he has all the makings of a superstar. He came out looking mostly the same as usual, aside from new gloves that added a bit of flair. Chris Island also appeared unchanged, just without a vest and no noticeable difference.

Anthony controlled the match for the most part. Chris had a brief momentum shift, but it was quickly stopped. Anthony sealed the win with his Lights, Camera, Action finisher.

Shiloh Hill def. Elijah Holyfield

Bubba Ray and Undertaker came out before the match, discussing why Jasper Troy was chosen over Shiloh and how it hurt Bubba to lose Elijah to Undertaker. Shiloh Hill and Elijah Hill both debuted new gear, including new pants. Elijah was explosive and showed off some new moves. Shiloh was able to display the layers Shawn Michaels hinted at in the Season 1 finale.

The match was overall very solid, with both men having their moments to showcase their skills. They have great chemistry in the ring. Shiloh hit his impressive finisher for the win, but the ending felt flat and sudden.
