The New Day start off the card with Big E in a baby diaper. They say they have an important announcement: all three of them will be competing in the WWE Royal Rumble match. They proceed to diss Brock Lesnar for not never being around. Woods moves on to resolutions which is welcomed with boos from the WWE Universe because they are unable to eat pancakes. “We want pancakes!” chants happen. They announce a match tonight for the final spot in the fatal 5-way match, where the winner takes on Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble.

Joe advances to the fatal 5-way matchup.

Mr. McMahon and Shane are backstage. Styles knocks and walks in and doesn’t apologize for last week, says Mr. McMahon provoked him. Shane steps up to Styles after he threatens Mr. McMahon. Segment ends with Shane saying, “be careful what you wish for,” regarding wanting to see the “real Styles.”

Rusev and Lana make their way to the ring for an interview. He says his reign will be, “long and luscious.” As Rusev was chanting with the WWE Universe, Nakamura comes out of no where and attacks. Lana jumps on Nakamura’s back, allowing Rusev to kick Nakamura. Lana gets hurt, Rusev is distracted and Nakamura comes back to finish his assault. He takes the U.S. belt and places it on Rusev before leaving the ring.

Clip of Naomi attacking Mandy Rose last week for flirting with her husband.

Sonya Deville def. Naomi via pinfall.

Rose takes off her shirt to show her Uso shirt underneath. Naomi goes crazy and attacks. Deville makes her way in the ring and ends up starting the match by attacking Naomi.

Rose gets on the mic, and says she sent Naomi’s husband a photo of her. Deville takes advantage of the distraction and uses her finisher to pick up the win.

John Cena comes out to a huge pop. Says he had one hell of a year; he bought a ticket to WrestleMania, his personal life was public, he wrote a children’s book, got to live in China for a while, and thinks wrestling is still a good idea. He asks the WWE Universe, “why am I here?” Cena said he doesn’t have a reason, while joking about his relationship with Nikki Bella. He calls for someone to come out and fight him.

Becky Lynch comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. She asks, “how does it feel cause you were expecting a man to come out.” She says it’s not that simple for him to come back. She wasn’t aiming for Charlotte and getting on the posters, she was aiming for John Cena who personifies what the company was. “It’s time for someone new to come in, step up, and fill in your shoes and that person is me.”

Zelina Vega and Andrade Cien Almas interrupt. Vega says all she see’s in the ring is that Cena looks older and Lynch has a broken face that never healed up from Nia Jax. She then introduces her and Almas to Cena. Cena responds and calls for a mixed tag match, he wants to know what it’s like to be in the ring with The Man.

John Cena and Becky Lynch def. Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega via submission.

Before ending the match, Lynch throws Cena out of the ring. Lynch submits Vega for the win. At the end of the match, Cena goes to shake Lynch’s hand and she denies him.
