Your guide to TUW 18: Tag Team Triple Threat Showdown

Read Time:3 Minute, 10 Second

The second round of The Ultimate Writer Season 4 is officially underway. TUW 18 will feature one of the best main events in TUW history… A massive headliner when the top three teams of the competition go head-to-head in what could be a very telling matchup for the season. Though there is no one getting eliminated this round, the bottom three teams and our newcomers will go through a huge shake-up that could ultimately better the competition.

Sound The Purge sirens, the twists and turns have officially begun!

If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 16 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly, but for this round specifically, we’ll have a different set of rules. This next round will be two weeks long, and each team member’s highest viewed article (each week) will be added together for their total score.

This second card will help us determine the rankings of the final teams, shake things up big time, and get us one step closer to debuting the official bracket for the season. Were the first week results a fluke? Will our new team make a big impact?

So, many questions will be answered…

Remember…

The top three teams have solidified their place on the bracket. But we have yet to learn what will happen to the last three teams. Until now… A huge shake-up could happen, depending on how things go of course. Since round two is all about the highest viewed article, doing well for yourself is going to be critical.

The team with the highest total score will be safe, and take the #4 ranking. The two content creators with the highest individual viewed articles after the winners, will form a new team at #5. Which leaves the two with the lowest viewed creators to form the #7 ranked team.

The remaining two individuals will form the #6 team on the tournament bracket, leaving one last team to be revealed this season.

The Unlikely Duo Debuts: Kevin Varghese & Jake Foley

Though they are new to Season 4, the team of Kevin Varghese & Jake Foley are getting thrown in the shake-up. So they may not be a team for long…

But if you don’t know who they are, both Kevin and Jake come from Season 3. Kevin was the last newbie standing, making a lasting impression on TUW and The Scrap. He made big decisions that impacted the competition, won some critical weeks, and showed he was the true Dark Horse all along.

Jake also had a great first season, being one of the few to really make in impact on the YouTube side of things. It’ll be interesting to see what type of comeback he makes this season, and how the clash of seasons plays out.

The Main Event

IS HUGE, to say the least. We’re going to see if the competition will get closer in views, or if Lewis Simpson & Makoa Goble will show signs of potentially going undefeated after the insane gap they left in viewership last week. But one thing is for sure, these are the top three teams to beat, and we’ll want to see how they evolve throughout the competition.

Make sure you tune in… Was it smart for these teams to stay as duos? Or could they have benefited from the shake-up that’s about to change the competition? These next two weeks will definitely let us know…

P.S. The winners of the main event will get an advantage over the rest of the competition once the bracket is finalized in round three. Results will be shared in two weeks…
