Your guide to TUW 25: Els vs. Bitter

The third round of The Ultimate Writer Season 5 has crept up quite fast… TUW 25 will highlight our winner and loser brackets. We could also see our first eliminated competitors of the season.
If you don’t already know, The Ultimate Writer is a competition that features 12 of the best combat sports content creators around the world in a competition where article views matter. Winners this season are determined weekly and for this second round, each contestant’s highest viewed article will to head-to-head to determine the week’s winner.
The Scrap staff participating in TUW Season 5 will be competing for the grand prize of $150 and their choice of a WWE or UFC NFT (Non-Fungible Token).
Creators to Watch
The only question on the loser bracket right now is will Juan Reneo and/or Katie Vega make their way back to the winner bracket after surprisingly losing last week. Both are strong payers that could still win it all… Katie came back after being eliminated in her first TUW season to win it alll… So anything can happen.
As for the winner bracket, Dre Parsons is one to watch after coming out of nowhere last week. She battles fellow newbie Chris Presnell, who is another to keep a close eye on. Especially if he supplies video content moving forward.
Matchups to Watch
The best matchups of course are on the winner bracket. Joey Els vs. Shawn Bitter should be quite telling for that top spot this season. Also, Lewis Simpson vs. Austin Luff would have been insane, however, Lewis will be taking a short break from The Scrap to focus on his awesome UK MMA site. This is a matchup to watch because the highest viewed creator on the loser bracket will fill Lewis’ spot on the bracket, even if they are eliminated.
On the loser bracket currently, the best matchup is Katie Vega vs. Steven Rae. If Steven is able to write content this week, the matchup would be much more interesting. But of course, all eyes are on Katie, who let that first-round bracket matchup slip from her fingertips.
