The Scrap’s 2023 Most Read Writer: Joey Torres
When The Scrap was started at the end of 2018, we wanted to build a place that gave people creative freedom with little rules. A place that felt like fans could have easily digestible content from a fan’s perspective. Whether it’s combat sports, pro wrestling or sports entertainment, The Scrap has always been one of the most diverse sites in sports media today.
In 2023, we brought on content creators from all around the world to help build one of our most well rounded teams ever. We also have some of the most loyal OG’s on the site that have held it down for five years strong. Though we celebrated him once already, we’re excited to announce our Most Read Writer…
Nominees:
Joey Torres, Katie Vega, Juan Reneo & Ben Davis
The Most Read Writer: Joey Torres
Cue Drake’s Back to Back. Ever since he came back to focus solely on the site, things have started to turn around on all platforms. Though his articles were far and few throughout 2023, he generated the most views, out performing second place by nearly double.
When you look at the stats, Joey dominated the views, mainly with his Sean Strickland article. He generated 6,572 alone with brand new articles, while only creating on 25% of the content published last year. From breaking the TUF 31 cast and teams, to breaking regional fight news, Joey’s pieces certainly stood out. In 2024, his stats will help drive the direction The Scrap takes moving forward.
Congratulations, Joey!
