Card Preview & Predictions

NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Je’Von Evans

The NXT Championship is on the line as Je’Von Evans steps up to challenge Oba Femi for the brand’s top prize. Since winning the title in January, The Ruler has dominated NXT. He’s gone on to defeat top stars from both NXT and TNA, cementing himself as the man to beat.

But the time is now. Je’Von Evans has been carefully built for this moment. After his big victory over TNA World Champion Trick Williams on August 19, he finally earns his one-on-one shot at the title.

NXT is ready for a change. There’s not much left for Femi to do on the brand, and the show needs a fresh face and a super-over babyface to lead the way. Can The Young OG dethrone The Ruler and usher in a new era, or will Femi continue his reign atop NXT?

Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: Je’Von Evans

TNA Knockouts Championship: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Ash by Elegance

The TNA Knockouts Championship will be on the line at a WWE NXT PLE as Jacy Jayne defends her title against Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance in a high-stakes Triple Threat Match.

Jacy Jayne, the NXT Women’s Champion, has been on a scorching run across both companies, relying on Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx to strengthen her grip on both titles. Slamovich and Ash by Elegance are determined to bring the TNA Knockouts Title back to TNA.

It’s hard to predict where WWE and TNA are taking this storyline. It seems likely they’re building toward a massive moment of TNA reclaiming its belts, which would make Jacy retaining the logical outcome. Still, in a Triple Threat match like this, anything can happen, so the title is truly anyone’s to win.

Predictions:

  • Joey: Jacy Jayne
  • Rags: Ash by Elegance

Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe

Jordynne Grace will finally get her hands on Blake Monroe when the two collide at Heatwave. Monroe’s arrival in NXT made global headlines, and she quickly teamed up with Grace, forming an unlikely alliance. But, the friendship fell apart fast when Monroe cost Grace a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship at Evolution.

Since then, Grace has relentlessly pursued Monroe, even enduring a brutal steel chair attack at the hands of The Glamour. It feels too early for Monroe to suffer her first defeat in a WWE ring, making this a high-stakes clash. Will Grace finally exact her revenge, or will Monroe prove she’s one of the most unstoppable Superstars in NXT?

Predictions:

  • Joey: Blake Monroe
  • Rags: Jordynne Grace

NXT Tag Team Championships: Hank & Tank (c) vs. DarkState

The NXT Tag Team Championships will be on the line when Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defend their titles against two members of the villainous DarkState.

Since winning gold, Hank & Tank haven’t been featured much, which is a shame given they dethroned Fraxiom, who were on a legendary run.

DarkState, made up of Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin, and Cutler James, has decimated multiple Superstars across NXT and TNA, including the current champions. A furious Hank & Tank demanded the match. But, they don’t know which members of DarkState will step up to challenge them.

Can Hank & Tank overcome what may be their toughest challenge yet? Don’t be surprised if DarkState finally get their first taste of gold.

Predictions:

  • Joey & Rags: DarkState

Mixed Tag Team Match: Chelsea Green & Ethan Page vs. Tyra Mae Steele & Tavion Heights

Mixed tag team action will see Chelsea Green and NXT North American Champion Ethan Page take on Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights.

Page has been boasting that he is the greatest North American. He’s also been claiming Canada is superior to the United States, prompting Heights to defend his home country. Chelsea Green joined the fray in support of Canada. But Heights was quick to reveal that fellow Olympian and Olympic Gold Medalist Tyra Mae Steele has aligned with him.

This has been one of the best storylines building on NXT. Chelsea Green continues to deliver wherever she appears, and her pairing with Ethan Page is perfect. Losing too early would be a setback, especially since Chelsea has been unstoppable. Her momentum mirrors moments like Piper Niven pinning Charlotte Flair on SmackDown, which shocked the WWE Universe.

At the same time, the new duo of Tavion and Tyra in a WWE ring is just as compelling. They have plenty of time to develop, and it seems likely that Tavion could eventually claim the North American title from Ethan, who has been ready for the main roster for quite some time now.

Predictions:

  • Joey: Chelsea Green & Ethan Page
  • Rags: Tavion Heights & Tyra Mae Steele

Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice

Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Lola Vice will collide in a No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Match. All three Superstars have a legitimate case to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship. But, they must face each other to earn the opportunity first.

NXT has such a stacked women’s roster. However, progress has been slow due to minimal storylines around both the mid-card and main women’s titles. This Triple Threat match offers a chance to move things forward, but the only way to do that is with Lola Vice.

Recently featured on AAA events, it’s clear WWE is ready to back her. After a failed breakout contract cash-in at NXT Vengeance Day, it’s time to reward the work she’s put in since. Now, she has the chance to finally capitalize, make a statement, and right that moment.

Who will rise to face Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship?

Predictions:

  • Joey: Lola Vice
  • Rags: Jaida Parker
