WWE AAA Crossover

WWE Superstars Who Could Benefit From a Short Run in AAA

Read Time:3 Minute, 57 Second

Ever since WWE’s acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, we’ve seen more and more crossover between the two brands.

Most notably, AAA has helped give a fresh identity to El Grande Americano, along with the ongoing feud involving Bravo & Rayo Americano, while the Creed Brothers have found new life as well.

Most notably, AAA has elevated El Grande Americano’s presentation alongside Bravo and Rayo Americano, while also giving the Creed Brothers a renewed sense of direction. More recently, even Bayley has stepped into the mix, proving that no one is off-limits in this new era of collaboration.

But there are still plenty of names who could benefit from a run in AAA. Here are a few stars we’d love to see make the trip:

Otis & Tozawa

Otis and Akira Tozawa are currently spinning their wheels on RAW, mostly used as background pieces in the ongoing tease involving Maxxine Dupri and The Vision. But people tend to forget, both of these guys can go.

AAA crowds have always appreciated the contrast of a powerhouse against a high-flying style. Just look at how talents like Omos and the Viking Raiders have been received. Otis would get over instantly. He’s a larger-than-life presence with natural charisma who doesn’t mind making a fool of himself for the crowd.

As for Tozawa, longtime fans know exactly what he’s capable of. His run in Dragon Gate showcased a completely different side; fast, aggressive, and relentless. He’s someone who can adapt to any style, and in AAA’s high-speed environment, he could remind people very quickly just how good he really is.

If AAA is looking to strengthen its tag division, this is a duo that brings both entertainment and in-ring ability.

Candice LeRae

The AAA women’s division is starting to gain serious momentum. With Bayley entering the picture, Lola Vice getting involved, and the addition of La Catalina, the pieces are coming together.

That said, if there’s a veteran who could truly thrive in that environment, it’s Candice LeRae.

She hasn’t been given many opportunities on WWE’s main roster, but her track record speaks for itself. Candice is as tough as they come, with experience in high-risk matches and fast-paced environments. She can hang with anyone, anywhere.

A run in AAA wouldn’t just give her more exposure, it would remind people exactly who she is.

Johnny Gargano

If Candice makes the trip, it only makes sense that Johnny Gargano isn’t far behind.

Gargano’s current character has leaned into frustration and self-doubt, with flashes of the old fire popping up here and there—especially during his recent NXT appearance against Myles Borne. But those moments have been inconsistent.

That’s where AAA comes in.

A change of scenery could be exactly what Gargano needs to reset. Put him in the ring with AAA’s fastest and most dynamic talent, and you’re giving him the perfect opportunity to prove he hasn’t lost a step.

Sometimes all it takes is the right environment to bring out the best in someone, and AAA could be that for Gargano.

Mason Rook

AAA has always embraced larger athletes. But, it becomes even more interesting when that size comes with agility.

Mason Rook is still new to NXT, but sending him to AAA for additional reps could be a huge win. We’ve already seen talent like Dorian Van Dux gain experience across AAA, NXT, and Evolve, so the blueprint is there.

Rook has the kind of presence that stands out immediately, and if he’s given the chance to showcase his athleticism in front of a new audience, there’s a real chance he connects in a big way.

A matchup with El Hijo del Vikingo practically sells itself, the clash in styles alone would make it worth watching.

Sheamus

To round things out, you have a veteran in Sheamus.

A former multi-time world champion, Sheamus has been in and out of the spotlight in recent years. But make no mistake, he can still go. Sheamus brings a completely different energy than most of AAA’s roster. He’s hard-hitting, physical, and unapologetically aggressive.

He’s not going to match anyone move-for-move in a high-flying exchange, and that’s exactly the point.

Sheamus in AAA is all about contrast. It’s about watching a brawler step into a world built on speed and risk, and forcing that world to adjust to him instead.

He doesn’t need reinvention. He doesn’t need rebuilding.

He just needs a ring—and AAA would be a fun one to step into.
