Kenny Omega & Adam Page: A Long-Term Story

Read Time:2 Minute, 11 Second

AEW has been building the story of Kenny Omega and Adam Page these last two years. On Saturday, we’ll finally have a conclusion to this story at Full Gear.

The story of Page and Omega goes back to their tag team days. Both at the time felt lost. Page failed to capture the AEW World Championship against Jericho, and Omega had tough lost against Moxley on the first-ever Full Gear. At the beginning of 2021, on Jericho’s cruise, Omega and Page captured the tag team titles and had a great run.

At Revolution, they faced the Young Bucks in a match many consider the best tag team match of all time. After retaining the titles, the post-match show hints of Omega and Page splitting up.

The Break-Up

Things between Page and Omega were getting worse when they faced FTR. FTR played to Page’s insecurities and this played a huge factor on FTR defeating them, ending their run as AEW Tag Team Champions at All Out.

Omega and Page’s paths would temporarily separate, only to see each other once more. But this time as opponents on the finals of the Eliminator Tournament to determine the next challenger for the AEW world title. Omega and Page faced each other in a great match, but Omega once again was able to beat Page and eventually crown himself AEW World Champion.

While Omega was causing havoc with The Elite as the world champion, Page had lost his confidence but new friends for him would arrive in the Dark Order. Page with this new confidence, he was able to get some wins and finally get close on his objective to become world champion in AEW.

After Double or Nothing, Page had finally become the number #1 contender for the title and the clash with Omega felt inevitable. When everything seemed to be aligning for the match to take place at All Out, The Elite challenged Page and the Dark Order to a 5 on 5 elimination match.

The Elite won and temporarily set back Page a bit on his quest.

The Inevitable

Page was out for two months, due to the birth of his son, but he returned just in time for a ladder match that would help him be the number #1 contender once more and face Omega.

Everything is set for both to clash and possibly see Hangman finally make his promise of becoming world champion in AEW like he said in AEW’s first conference. Saturday can’t come soon enough.

What do you think? Does Page get the job done? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. 100% onboard with Page taking it.
Then we get him in a killer feud with Miro and
Omega/Cole can implode setting up Elite vs. UE
