Kenny Omega is on the verge of a heel turn — “The Cleaner” is back
Kenny Omega in the last couple of days has made the wrestling world talk about him because of a series of promos he’s made about NXT.
These comments have made people wonder if “The Cleaner” is back.
For those not familiar with “The Cleaner,” it was the heel persona Omega used when he first joined Bullet Club back in 2014. Earlier this year we saw glimpses of “The Cleaner” with the promos he was cutting about Hiroshi Tanahashi before their Wrestle Kingdom main event.
Omega’s breakdown began after losing to PAC at All Out and during various sketches in BTE, we’ve see Kenny losing his mind and slowly transitioning in “The Cleaner.” Lately, he has made some controversial remarks towards NXT and has the wrestling world talking about him. And by association, AEW.
These comments have fans and some critics divided.
AEW right now is telling the story with Omega about him not being able to win and being in middle of a breakdown. It seems to lead into Omega turning heel after almost 2 years of working as a babyface.
Some of the best work Omega has done, promo-wise and in-ring, has been with him being a heel. A heel Omega would be an interesting angle to do and would be good TV to watch. People for quite some time were clamoring for the return of a heel Omega and AEW seems to be going that direction.
An Omega heel run would be good for both Kenny and AEW. As of right now, they only have two credible heels with MJF and current AEW Champion, Chris Jericho. A heel Omega would be something interesting for him to do until his eventual crowing as champion.
