Danhausen Partner

5 Possible Mystery Partners for Danhausen at WWE Backlash

Read Time:3 Minute, 29 Second

Very nice, very evil, but he won’t be alone at WWE Backlash. The biggest question heading into the PLE is who will stand alongside Danhausen.

Set to face The Miz and Kit Wilson, Danhausen needs a partner. WWE loves a surprise, but there are a few names that make real sense.

Some are long shots. One feels likely — and might not sit well with the fanbase.

Here are five potential partners for Danhausen:

5. Jelly Roll

Let’s start with the most WWE-coded option.

Jelly Roll has already had run-ins with The Miz and Kit Wilson, and a tag match involving the four was heavily rumored heading into WrestleMania 42. While that never materialized, Backlash feels like the logical spot to revisit the idea.

WWE loves their celebrity involvement and pairing Jelly Roll with Danhausen will only further his star and mainstream appeal-Hausen. It may not be the most exciting choice for hardcore fans, but it’s arguably the most likely.

4. Santino Marella

If WWE wants to fully embrace the absurdity and comedy aspect of this match, Santino is the pick.

Pairing him with Danhausen would create a team that blends WWE’s comedy past, with their comedy present. While the comedy-heavy match could turn people off, there is also an entire section of fans that would get a kick out of this.

And yes, Santino is currently in TNA. But we’ve seen him on WWE programming as a part of NXT in the past year, so this show shouldn’t be an issue.

Plus, with matches like IYO SKY vs. Asuka and Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins, we already have the wrestling-heavy portion of the card filled out. Maybe a comedy match is exactly what could benefit Backlash.

And somehow, some way, it would probably work.

3. Royce Keys

Every chaotic character needs a straight-up enforcer.

Royce Keys, a newer addition to the SmackDown roster, fits that role perfectly. Where Danhausen brings the antics, Keys brings the physical presence. It’s a classic “brains and brawn” dynamic, just with a very strange brain in charge.

If WWE wants to elevate a newer name while protecting Danhausen, this is a smart route. Though, it seems Royce Keys has sort-of involved himself with Jacob Fatu’s story as seen Friday on SmackDown. So, maybe this is even more unlikely. Still, it could be cool.

2. Elton Prince

If WWE is really looking for a shock-surprise, this could be it.

Elton Prince returning to confront Kit Wilson practically writes itself. With Wilson now aligned with The Miz, there’s a built-in sense of betrayal that could see the former Pretty Deadly duo clash at Backlash.

Of course, reality plays a role here. Prince underwent major neck surgery earlier this year, so his in-ring status is uncertain. But if he’s cleared? This instantly becomes the most emotionally driven option on the list. It’s unlikely he could be cleared so quickly from his injury.

But, it’s wrestling. Anything can happen.

1. Ethan Page

If it were up to me, this would be my pick. Purely for the dynamic.

Ethan Page and Danhausen have history; complicated, messy, and oddly entertaining. They’re friends… depending on the day. This oozes “odd-ball” tag team that WWE is oh-so familiar with.

Even with Page currently on RAW, the brand split hasn’t exactly been rigid lately. More importantly, this choice adds layers: comedy, tension, and the constant question of whether Page is actually there to help, or for his own reasons.

If WWE wants to have some fun, and put the spotlight on their most recent call-up to RAW, this could be a really good pick. Danhausen calling him “Egon” on TV, like he does on social media, would probably get over with the WWE crowd, too.

Regardless of who the pick ends up being, I think it’s going to be Jelly Roll. But one thing’s for certain, Danhausen will be more over than anyone else in the match.

And whoever steps in as his partner better play their role right, or else…

YOU. ARE. CURSED!
