Cage Warriors 193 Preview
The main card for Cage Warriors 193 will be well worth its wait. After a two-month hiatus, the European promotion has brought out some of its stars as it goes on a stretch of three cards in the next four weeks.
At the top of the card is George Hardwick, who is looking to return to his championship form and return to the top of the lightweight division. He takes on a veteran Brazilian in Nonato Junior, who enters this fight with 12 submission victories on his record. The winner of this fight will be in the driver’s seat to be the next lightweight challenger.
Leading into the main event is an exciting co-main clash between Chris Bumgard and Simone Patrizi. This is a bout between a gritty veteran and a young Italian prospect. The Scottish vet, Bumgard, enters this match off back-to-back victories and is determined to get back to the top of the division.
“The Bad Guy” takes on “The White Shark” in Patrizi, who is looking to return to his winning ways. After two consecutive losses to some of the division’s best, Patrizi will look to avoid a three-fight losing streak.
Main Card Highlights
The feature fight of the night features a local prospect in George Staines, as he takes on the experienced Brazilian, Willian Batista. This is an extremely high-level squash match at lightweight.
Staines enters with tons of experience, including IMMAF Amateur experience and his 6-0 record in Oktagon. Through these bouts, he’s fought high-level opposition, and this match is more of the same.
Batista enters with a four-fight win streak and has consistently fought the best in Brazil. With a kickboxing background, it should be a fun scrap.
The opening three bouts of the main card bring the firepower. Cage Warriors veterans Orlando Wilson Prins, Mateusz Figlak, and Reece McEwan welcome fresh faces, Andrew Fisher, Tom Crosby, and Elton Armindo.
Bellator veteran Andrew Fisher makes his return to Cage Warriors against Orlando Wilson Prins in a highly anticipated lightweight bout. Fisher has faced some of Europe’s toughest competition throughout his career.
At welterweight, Tom Crosby and Mateusz Figlak square off in a clash between two proven finishers. Meanwhile, Reece McEwan looks to defend his spot in the promotion against newcomer Elton Armindo in what could be the most evenly matched fight of the night.
Undercard Action
The entire Cage Warriors card is stacked from top to bottom. The undercard also features a few fun fights with future implications.
Among them is Michael Tchamou vs. Jordan O’Neill at middleweight and prospects Fraser Paterson, Giada Ghizzo, and Matthew Elliott.
