Pro Wrestling Spotlight: Javier Vives
The Pro Wrestling Spotlight now will move to the capital of Spain, Madrid. This time, we talk to a rising star of the capital, the hoss Javier Vives…
Like most wrestlers all over the world, he fell in love with sport at an early age. But unlike most, he started his wrestling journey later on in life. Javier Vives started his wrestling training in the middle of 2018, but it wasn’t until 2019 when he made his debut inside a ring. When things looked promising for him, an unfortunate ACL injury in November of that year, as well as the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic halted his career for a while. Since his return to the ring, he has been able to finally recuperate all the time he lost by wresting all over Spain.
Vives’ in-ring style mirrors that of his favorite wrestlers Samoa Joe, Vader and Kenta Kobashi. The more you study his in-ring work, the more you’ll realize he has been inspired by his wrestling heroes and from other legendary wrestling hosses. One thing that differentiates him from most hosses is his speed, Vives is faster than people might think inside the ring. This makes him a deadly opponent. Another key aspect of his game is his striking; Vives is a great striker, with his chops being deadly. If you don’t believe me just ask his opponents…
Javier Vives bout against Noah Striker is one of his personal favorite matches he has had in his career. Another match he likes his bout against Carlos Romo. Both matches showcase Javier Vives well, and his identity as a pro wrestler.
Javier Vives is a very promising wrestler, and his game slowly growing in the Spanish wrestling scene. His goals are to make Spanish wrestling keeps growing, as well as people from different of the world pay attention to this rising scene.
