Road to UFC Explained: How Asia-Pacific Prospects Fight Their Way to a UFC Contract
UFC Fight Pass’ Road to UFC is back for Season 5, continuing its role as an important talent pipeline for Asian countries to the UFC.
This series has become a critical scouting ground for the UFC’s global expansion. It gives fighters from countries across Asia and the Pacific a legitimate platform to showcase themselves on a worldwide stage.
The concept is simple. A win-and-advance, single-elimination tournament designed to give fighters from the Asia-Pacific region a direct opportunity to earn a UFC contract. There are no shortcuts, no second chances, just win or go home.
For many prospects, this is the closest thing to a fast track into the UFC.
Season 5 Format: Four Divisions, One Goal
Road to UFC Season 5 features four weight classes:
- Women’s Strawweight
- Men’s Flyweight
- Men’s Bantamweight
- Men’s Featherweight
Each division operates as its own tournament bracket. Fighters must string together multiple wins in a high-pressure environment to prove they belong on the sport’s biggest stage.
Every fight matters. Every round matters. One loss ends the dream.
How to Watch
You can catch all the action on UFC Fight Pass.
Season 5 kicks off in May, building momentum during the lead-up to UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Figueiredo. This year’s opening stretch features two major back-to-back events in Macau:
The First Weekend
- Road to UFC: Macau Day 1 — Thursday, May 28
- Road to UFC: Macau Day 2 — Friday, May 29
Both cards will set the tone for the tournament, as fighters begin their climb through the brackets under intense pressure and global scouting attention.
