WWE Fastlane Predictions

Read Time:6 Minute, 48 Second

The Royal Rumble is over, the Elimination Chamber is behind us and now we are on the Fastlane to WrestleMania.

Fastlane is typically just a set up PPV for WrestleMania, so many of these matches are fairly easy to pick. Regardless, check out my predictions below.

Rey Mysterio vs Andrade (Kick-off Show Match).

First of all, it is absolutely insane to me that this is a kick-off match. These two have been killing it the last couple months. If I had it my way, this match and the Smackdown Women’s Championship would switch places. That being said, I can’t wait. This match is guaranteed to be one of the best matches of the night regardless of its placement on the card. They have yet to have a boring match and I think this will be one of the matches Twitter is talking about Monday morning.

I do think Andrade will pick up the win over Mysterio. I’m picking Andrade because I think he will probably be moving onto either the United States or WWE Championship scene. They could put Rey in the title scene at any point win or lose, but I think if they want Andrade to be a title contender he needs a good solid win, and this will be that win.

Andrade def. Rey Mysterio.

Raw Tag Team Championship: The Revival (C) vs Aleister Black & Ricochet vs Chad Gable & Bobby Roode.

This one is very hard for me to call because any of these teams could win and I wouldn’t be surprised. They’re booking Aleister Black and Ricochet super strong coming out of NXT, The Revival haven’t been champions very long, and while I think they’re the least likely of the three to win, they could always put the titles back on Roode & Gable. I think this could be a fantastic match if they give it some time and some freedom.

All of these teams are absolutely fantastic, and as I said they seem to be keeping Black and Ricochet extremely strong which I’m a big fan of. However, I think they see the most money in Black and Ricochet as singles stars, and I don’t see them putting the titles back on Roode & Gable so I think The Revival will hold onto those titles. I don’t think this is the end of this three-way rivalry however, because I think The Revival will get a sneaky win and maybe keep this going to WrestleMania.

The Revival def. Aleister Black and Ricochet & Chad Gable and Bobby Roode.

Women’s Tag Team Championship: Boss ‘N Hug Connection (C) vs Nia Jax and Tamina.

For me this is one of the most obvious matches of the night. They have been booking Jax and Tamina super strong since the Elimination Chamber, but I think they want to build this division around Sasha & Bayley. They will most likely get beat on by Nia and Tamina for much of the match and pull out an upset at the end.

Going into Wrestlemania I can’t see those belts around the waists of anybody other than Sasha and Bayley.

Boss ‘N Hug Connection def. Nia Jax and Tamina.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (C) vs Shane McMahon and The Miz.

When The Usos won the Smackdown Tag Titles from Shane and The Miz at Elimination Chamber, I was kind of surprised. I expected Shane and Miz to keep those belts at least going into Mania, but WWE surprised me. I don’t think they would put those belts on The Usos at Elimination Chamber just to put them back on Shane and The Miz, so I think Usos retain.

The Smackdown Tag Title scene going into WrestleMania is very unclear, I don’t know who The Usos can face. Bludgeon Brothers are no more, New Day will probably be wrapped up with Kofi’s WWE title match, I really don’t know. Regardless of all that, there’s no way Shane and Miz pick these titles back up.

Usos def. Shane McMahon and The Miz.

Smackdown Women’s Championship: Asuka (C) vs Mandy Rose.

I’m still salty that this is on the main card while Andrade and Rey is on the pre-show. Asuka is winning this match, that is the lock of the night. There is no way Mandy Rose is beating Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship heading into WrestleMania. While it doesn’t look like there will be much intrigue surrounding this title at the biggest show of the year, I would be shocked if they put this title on Mandy Rose.

It is kind of sad that with Becky and Charlotte being involved in a Raw storyline, this title has really fallen to the wayside. At least it’s on the card I suppose.

Asuka def. Mandy Rose.

The Shield vs Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, & Bobby Lashley.

It is crazy to think that if Dean does indeed leave WWE, this will be the last time we ever see The Shield in a match. Add in the fact that this is Roman’s first match after announcing he is in remission from his Leukemia, I think this’ll be a feel good victory for The Shield one last time. I do think this’ll be a fun match and no doubt when Roman hit’s that superman punch and spear he’s going to get the loudest pop he’s probably ever gotten.

I am really hoping this will end the Lashley/Drew/Elias/Braun faction that has been going for seemingly months now, and I think this will be a fun swan song (if Dean leaves) for one of the most dominant factions in WWE history. I don’t think this will be the last time we see The Shield together though, because I would assume they will have them celebrate with Seth when he slays the beast for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

The Shield def. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, & Bobby Lashley.

Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair.

The way this match came about on Raw was weird in my opinion. I love Becky Lynch but the whole thing with Ronda Rousey vacating the title then coming out next week and saying she didn’t vacate it then just getting it back, it was weird. So now we have Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair and if Becky wins she is added to the Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair match at WrestleMania.

There’s no way Becky loses, WWE has been building to this historic triple threat main event match for months, Becky is winning this match. Becky will win this match, then go on to close the show holding that Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35. This should be a good match, Becky and Charlotte are amazing wrestlers, and Ronda can be brought to a great match.

Becky Lynch def. Charlotte Flair.

WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (C) vs Kevin Owens.

Then in our main event, the returning Kevin Owens takes on Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. Now this was supposed to be Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan, but before Kofi could sign the contract Vince McMahon replaced him with Kevin Owens. This also has the potential to be a stellar match, Owens is fantastic and I don’t need to tell you how good Bryan is. I think by hook or by crook, Daniel Bryan will retain.

I don’t think this’ll be a clean finish. Rowan will most likely get involved and maybe Kofi will come out to make the save to set up the Mania match. I don’t see any WWE title match happening at WrestleMania that isn’t Bryan vs Kofi with Kofi finally winning that championship. I am super stoked to see Kevin Owens back though, and he will 100% hold that WWE title this year.

Daniel Bryan def. Kevin Owens.

Although this is just a set-up PPV, it has the potential to be a very solid one. There are good matches booked, and make sure you watch this pre-show because Rey and Andrade will absolutely have the match of the night.
