WWE LFG Season 3: Episode 4 Recap
WWE LFG returns for Season 3 on A&E, bringing fans another behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to earn a WWE contract. With two seasons already in the books, this year raises the stakes and promises the most unique season yet.
Familiar faces are back to guide the next generation. Booker T and Bubba Ray will return as coaches, and both Natalya and Kevin Owens join the show as new additions to the panel. Season 1 was claimed by The Undertaker, and Michelle McCool took home the win in Season 2. But this time, everything is different.
There are no more points, no more teams, and no more fighting for an NXT contract. Each week, the legends provide guidance both in-ring and on the mic, shaping the superstars of tomorrow and helping mold the future of WWE one match at a time.
Here’s what went down this week:

Episode Notes
- The episode starts with Tate Wilder at home with his wife and daughter, giving us a deeper look into his personal life — a nice addition to the show.
- Terry Taylor appeared as a guest coach this week, working closely with Chris Island and Tate Wilder.
- Bayley Humphrey returned, this time as more of a babyface with a different character aimed at bringing her out of her shell. She faced Nikitta Lyons, who was told to lead the match against the less experienced newcomer.
- Chris Island also returned, but the coaches’ biggest critique was that he keeps changing his ring gear every week instead of focusing on showcasing his personality.
- Zena Sterling was back as well, taking on newcomer Chantel Monroe. The two worked with Bubba Ray ahead of the night’s main event.
- Notably, there were no call-ups or Shawn Michaels appearances this week, signaling that the show is really starting to settle into its new format and focus on letting the talent truly work for their opportunities.

The Matches on Episode 4
WWE LFG Match Rating (1–5 Scale)
1️⃣ 😐 Meh / Okay – Not much happened, filler match
2️⃣ 🙂 Decent – Solid wrestling, nothing special
3️⃣ 🔥 Good / Fun – Crowd got into it, entertaining spots
4️⃣ 💥 Great / Must-See – High energy, memorable moments
5️⃣ 🤯 Epic / Instant Classic – Mind-blowing, match of the season candidate
Nikkita Lyons vs. Bayley Humphrey
- Results: Bayley Humphrey def. Nikkita Lyons
- Rating: 🔥
This was a solid match. Nothing out of the ordinary or overly special, but it served its purpose well. It was a bit strange seeing Bayley Humphrey work as a babyface, though it does plant the seeds for the less dark side we eventually see during her NXT debut.
Nikkita Lyons did a solid job leading the match as the heel. She put a beating on Bayley, which is something we don’t often see. Nikkita also did a great job targeting Bayley’s limbs and body with strikes, slowly breaking her down throughout the match.
On the other side, Bayley was able to showcase more of her athleticism, which felt like a nice progression compared to her past seasons.
Booker T had minimal critiques overall and seemed to really enjoy the match. Matt Bloom, however, wanted them to tell more of a story centered around two powerful competitors in the ring. He felt Nikkita should have had a more difficult time throwing Bayley around.
Chris Island vs. Tate Wilder
- Results: Tate Wilder def. Chris Island
- Rating: 🙂
Neither Tate Wilder nor Chris Island had watched The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan before, so they did some film study ahead of the match.
Wilder’s biggest critique this season has been that he focuses too much on flashy moments and has grown bored with the basics. So it was easy to see why they watched that match. On the other side, the coaches have been pushing Chris Island to show more personality and rely less on his ring gear to stand out.
This was a decent match overall, but Tate Wilder definitely stood out more between the two. He showcased plenty of athleticism, including a moonsault that looked prettier than Tiffany Stratton’s.
Chris Island, meanwhile, struggled a bit with trying to do too much throughout the match. That ended up being one of the main pieces of feedback the coaches gave him afterward.
Matt Bloom also admitted that he still doesn’t fully understand Chris Island as a performer. He even felt Chris falsely represented himself when he first arrived at the Performance Center, which added another layer to the criticism and showed there are still questions about who Chris really is as a character.
Zena Sterling vs. Chantel Monroe
- Results: Chantel Monroe def. Zena Sterling
- Rating: 🔥
Chantel Monroe showed a lot of swagger and attitude in this match. It was a solid debut for her on LFG, especially considering she’s only two years into wrestling. She’s completely invested in her character already, and it shows.
Meanwhile, Zena Sterling returned for her third season, and you can clearly tell there’s frustration building regarding her place in the competition. That added a nice layer to her performance, as she wrestled with plenty of aggression and urgency throughout the match.
Overall, the two put together a good match. Both competitors had opportunities to shine, showed solid aggression, and mixed in some good spots that kept the pace moving.
Bubba Ray had glowing praise for both women afterward. However, he still wants Zena to fully channel her energy instead of holding parts of herself back, despite how emotionally invested she already is. She knows she needs to step it up a notch.
Chantel ultimately picked up the victory with a Codebreaker.
