AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 is one of the promotion’s most pivotal events of the year, coinciding with the United Kingdom’s August Bank Holiday weekend. This year’s show will mark Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final match in the UK.

Co-produced annually by AEW and NJPW, the event sees stars from each brand face off in dream matches. In 2025, the card expands to include talent from NJPW’s sister promotion World Wonder Ring STARDOM and Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). It also marks the first time AEW will host an event at London’s iconic O2 Arena.

Toni Storm will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Athena, who earned her shot by winning the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In: Texas. Athena chose to cash in her contract at Forbidden Door, setting up a high-stakes showdown.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Moné will put her AEW TBS Championship on the line in a Four-Way Match featuring top women from AEW, CMLL, and STARDOM.
