Not all new Pro Wrestling free agents can go to AEW
WWE has recently changed their policy and now it seems that releases are going to be common thing for the organization. The speculation of where these wrestlers will land has intensified, and AEW seems to be the popular choice.
While AEW is a solid alternative for pro wrestling in the United States, it has to be mentioned that not all wrestlers can sign to AEW. The new promotion may be coming to a point where their roster is too bloated.
Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman is one of the biggest names from the recent WWE releases. Strowman has made some unfortunate comments about indie wrestlers last year and he is quoted saying he would only work for WWE.
Strowman would be a terrible fit for AEW and his in-ring work has been going downhill after his knee injuries. He seems to be a better fit for IMPACT, or he could do something else, like Softball.
Bryan Danielson
Bryan Danielson is one of the names Tony Khan and AEW need to bring to the fold. It could be a game-changing talent for them. The NJPW relationship AEW has could be a factor that help AEW sign him too.
Another factor In AEW’s favor is their liberty of allowing their wrestlers to work other places. Danielson could work for CMLL in Arena Mexico as he has always dreamed about. NJPW is also another solid place for him and could help the promotion on their U.S. expansion.
Everything is in the American Dragon’s favor right now.
Buddy Muprhy
Buddy Murphy would be a great fit anywhere. He’s a good worker and he would be a great addition to IMPACT in particular. Murphy is also a huge Kenny Omega fan and there’s no doubt he’ll want to have a match with him.
AEW already has too many wrestlers on their roster, but for Murphy, the best move would be an indie run or working for ROH. His email will be full of booking offers though, that’s for sure.
Heidi Lovelace
Heidi Lovelace (FKA Ruby Riott) is one of the names that will get a lot of books after her 90-day no compete clause is over. AEW in particular should contact her as soon as possible. A veteran like her could help AEW big time.
ROH and IMPACT could also be good landing spots for the former leader of the Riott Squad. On social media, Lovelace received a lot of praise for her work and I’m sure promoters noticed that.
OTHER NAMES
Names like Mickey James, Chelsea Green, Santana Garrett, Tommy End (Aleister Black), Axel Tischer (Alexander Wolfe) are also interesting names out there that are free agents.
